Job Description

Roustabouts work as part of a small team on offshore oil or gas drilling rigs or production platforms. Roustabouts do unskilled manual labouring jobs on rigs and platforms and roughneck is a promotion from roustabout. Continuous bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and moving items; frequently requires the ability to lift and move heavy and bulky objects without assistance.
Requires continuous walking and standing for several hours in a day regardless of weather or conditions. The environment can be dusty and noisy. May have to handle tools with sharp edges and some tools and supplies may contain hazardous materials. Must be willing to work overtime. Safety and Environmental awareness. Work effectively with others.
Also Roustabouts carry out tasks, such as:
• Cleaning, scraping and painting the deck, equipment and work areas
• Offloading supplies from boats and moving them to storage areas
• Mixing and conditioning drilling mud.Roughnecks do practical tasks directly involved in the drilling operation, under the supervision of the driller or assistant driller.
Undertake cargo work, maintenance and general labor duties (above).
** Qualification/Experience: 
• Experienced with heavy, outdoor work.
• Certified in lifting and rigging.
• Fair knowledge of lifting gear equipment, and sizing.
• Must satisfactorily complete company’s certification requirements.
