KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Business Strategy
- Participate and contribute to the development and refinement of the vision and long term strategy for the Company, and contribute to the overall process of corporate governance, management and corporate decision making to ensure the organization maximizes returns to its shareholder & Concession holders.
- Develop and implement the Division's Business Strategy, ensuring that Unit’s overall business goals are fully supported by the Division.
- Ensure the Unit’s long and short term plans are effectively converted into the Division’s acceptable performance objectives in line with established service levels.
Leadership
- Provide visible leadership and ensure that the Division’s long and short term business plans are effectively converted into its performance objectives to realise the Company’s Vision, Mission and established service levels.
- Advise and provide constant support to Company management on Division’s initiatives facilitating the overall corporate governance.
Budgets and Operational Plans
- Lead the development of the Division’s annual operational plans and optimal budget in line with Unit’s business objectives ensuring that adequate funding provision is made for all Divisional activities within the agreed parameters and service levels including effective interfaces with Company’s stakeholders and internal contributors.
- Control expenditure against approved divisional budget on a regular basis and investigate & reconcile any significant variances to ensure effective performance and cost control.
Performance Management
- Implement and continuously monitor the achievement of the Division KPIs related to the approved Annual Performance Management Contract and the Balanced Score Card for the Division to reinforce an organization-wide drive for performance.
- Manage the development and ensure proper cascade of the Division’s Performance objectives into the sections and establish monitoring mechanisms to ensure delivery of these objectives, and promote a performance driven culture.
Organization Structure and People Development
- Review, develop and recommend appropriate organization structure for the Division that will best utilise human capital while proactively incorporating sustainability into the on-going work practices to meet the business objectives.
- Manage the development of knowledge, competencies and innovative spirit in the Division to support the establishment Development Plans, Succession Planning and Talent pipeline within the Division to continuously develop employees with emphasis on UAE Nationals to meet Emiratization targets.
Integrated Production Planning
- Direct the integrated planning process of own team [in liaison with internal and external stakeholders], includes the effective analysis and forecasting of production capacity, resource requirements, market dynamics, [incl. the incorporation of shutdowns, turnarounds, and outages], prioritizing schedules based on business needs/ production profiles, and hence in the development of production/business plans that ensure the timely achievement of targets/production quota in an efficient and cost-effective manner, while maintaining safety, integrity, quality and reservoir performance to the highest standards.
- Lead and guide direct reports across planning phases in resolving capacity, resource, services and related issues at the facilities, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and advising senior management to ensure all enablers that maintain asset integrity and production levels to achieve targets and respond to stakeholder requirements in an efficient and cost effective manner are acquired, maintained and sustained.
- Oversee research, studies & analyses; reviewing and directing the implementation of recommendations on medium and long-term production programs within the framework of broad policy and guidelines given by senior management to meet plans and improve operational efficiencies.
- Direct and provides guidance for contingency planning, utilizing production flexibility to respond to stakeholder requirements and ensure any potential production shortages that might prevent the achievement of quotas is compensated to the most extent possible.
- Leads economics and scheduling exercises to maximize profit from the asset, in line with the company’s business plan.
Operations
- Direct operations management, following up on progress from direct reports, providing expertise and operational excellence guidance to ensure operations are running as per plan, within design parameters and envelope, and towards the achievement of targets and stakeholder requirements, in line with defined KPI’s and performance objectives. (in an efficient and cost effective manner, asset safety and integrity are maintained to the highest standards.)
- Manage decision-making, reviewing and approving work programs, in conjunction with other stakeholders (as required), directs problems solving with regards to shortcomings, irregularities and failures (operational and performance issues), overseeing investigation and troubleshooting processes and ensuring the implementation of recommended corrective action (such as repairs, modifications, replacements, etc.) to ensure uninterrupted operations, minimum downtime, sustainable production and the maximization of performance levels against established objectives. And the timely achievement of production plans.
- Direct operations management pertaining to offshore oil production from the field, overseeing planning and execution of activities related to well heads, wireline, pigging, logging, etc., providing guidance and support on any arising issues as necessary, to ensure production and injection targets are being met and asset safety and integrity are maintained to the highest levels.
Maintenance
- Direct the maintenance management, overseeing the planning and execution of all planned, predictive and corrective maintenance activities, and respective backlog, and facilitate the implementation of related programs, providing optimization guidance of the same, to ensure alignment of these with other departments and their effectiveness in maintaining assets to the highest possible standards to meet production requirement, in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Manage decision-making, approves change request/modifications with respect to executions within established parameters (incl. consideration of critical equipment and system), overseeing the assessment of risk and the consolidation of input from technical, budget and profitability drivers to ensure production is not interrupted, areas of improvement are addressed and capitalized upon (maintenance optimization), while asset safety and integrity are not jeopardized.
Technical Support
- Direct the efficient cooperation and synergy with the technical groups to receive the required engineering/technical support and ensure effective and timely delivery of all services to minimize risks that may hinder continued operations/maintenance and to ensure asset integrity and reliability.
- Oversee the initiation of studies/audits/monitoring of parameters and action plans to investigate/troubleshoot problematic operational conditions and/or equipment, manage decision-making (review, evaluate, approve) in conjunction with other stakeholders (as required) and follow up on resolutions/recommendations, including repairs, replacements, process adjustments, modifications, design changes, etc., pursuing these until completion, to ensure effectiveness towards providing long term solutions and ensuring the reliability and availability of systems/ minimization of operational disruptions towards the timely achievement of production plans in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Stimulate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of operations, systems, processes and practices, directing facility-wide modifications, taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement, authorizing and directing projects as established by delegation of authority manuals/ MOC process to ensure efficiencies and advancements are capitalized upon and these are effectively executed in an aligned and synergized manner.
- Direct and Lead the interaction between reservoir management and teams on site [Technical Support, Operations, etc.], and offsite [Contractors] pertaining to the provision of information and technical data as required by the Field Development Departments, and as driven by changes in producers and injectors in a timely and accurate manner, and subsequently the receipt of programs and requirements for implementation on site.
- Review Reservoir Management developed programs/plans received from headquarters, oversee operations teams to ensure effective implementation of the same, to ensure reservoir performance is optimized towards enhanced production and recovery, in line with company and shareholder objectives.
- Facilitate the execution and maintenance of asset integrity management system/programs entailing plans and related activities on site, includes Risk-Based Inspection, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Non-Destructive Testing, Corrosion Management, Monitoring Systems, etc. as applied, and ensure the timely implementation of recommendations/ corrective/remedial works and compliance to set guidelines by operations and maintenance teams to ensure the availability and reliability of assets, and to support operational excellence, in line with industry best practices, and company requirements and objectives.
- Oversee implementation and follow up on actions raised from internal and external adutits, risk register and HSE observations and that management of change process is applied to all modifications to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in maintaining physical and technical integrity.
Contracts
- Contribute in defining the scope of works for new contracts, monitor the contractor’s deliverables against scope of work and contracts terms and conditions, and appraises the contractor’s performance both during and at the end of contracts, preparing punch lists and signed provisional acceptance certificates to ensure cost effective and quality services are obtained for Company Offshore on all related contracts.
Projects
- Coordinate all activities during field project in relation to engineering, construction, commissioning, startup, and handover with ongoing operations, aligning schedules and timelines to achieve conformity and consistency among projects and operations, ensuring effective execution without jeopardizing production levels.
Emergencies and Crisis Management
- Oversee the emergency precautions and preparedness including up-to-date plans and employee training in order to ensure the ability in efficiently and effectively coping with and controlling any occurring or potential incidents/ accidents/ emergencies arising on the field.
- Review reports, and directs investigations and root cause identification of incidents, accidents, near miss events, etc. associated with field activities, Liaise with headquarters for support on corrective action to ensure any situation is addressed in a safe and effective manner, and capitalized upon for the future.
Stakeholder relationship
- Develop and maintain effective business relationships with all relevant internal departments & external entities (such as stakeholders, government authorities, key stake holders etc) with the highest standards of business ethics, whilst promptly attending to all critical issues in-order to ensure the services required by the organization are delivered in the most effective manner.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Create and foster an organisation culture that encourages innovation, enhances employee motivation and supports initiatives for implementation of Change Management to continuously improve Division’s operations and services.
- Lead the evaluation of internal processes against best practices in pursuit of more efficient functional processes in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the Division.
Policies, Processes and Procedures
- Lead the development and implementation of appropriate Divisional policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures and internal controls, includes ensuring compliance with shareholders and Company guidelines in order to support execution of the Company’s work programs in line with Local & Federal laws and International standards.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and legal regulations and propose solutions to the management on issues related to the Division.
HSE and Sustainability
- Support the institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines across the Division in line with international standards, best practices and Corporate Code of Practices.
- Ensure adequate training and induction for all Division staff in HSE standards and requirements to meet HSE standards.
Risk Management
- Participate and contribute in the design, development and establishment of an Integrated Risk Management Framework within the Unit while identifying and assessing relevant domain risks and implement measures to manage and mitigate all identified risks within the Division.
- Ensure corporate business ethics and Company’s Code of Conduct are communicated to employees within the Division in compliance to the Corporate Policies and guidelines.
Management Reports
- Ensure that all Divisional progress reports are prepared to provide accurate and timely corporate reports and necessary information to Company Management, Board of Directors, Board Advisory Committee and other shareholder representatives to effectively manage the business.

6. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
- B.Sc in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 15 years diversified experience in an oilfield, 8 years in supervisory position.
- Good understanding of various aspects of site operations in an oil/gas industry.
- Diversified experience in oilfields.

- Approximately 80% of the work time is spent in an air-conditioned office.
