Responsibilities & other Qualifications:
- Ensure that the standards set by the Competent Authority for operator qualifications continue to be met; and ensure that co-ordination takes place between the VTS, the port operators, and other port facilities and services.
- Ensure that the service provided meets the requirements of both the users and the Competent Authority.
- Coordinate the interface between the VTS, allied services and other port facilities and services.
- Ensure the efficient running of the VTS operations room.
- Supervise and carry out assessments of VTS Operators.
- Inform the Harbor Master, without delay, of any situation of risk collision, grounding or violation of Port Regulations being developed.
- Interact with ships to deliver the VTS services as defined by the Competent Authority.
- Operate equipment for communications, data collection, data analysis and establishment of a traffic image.
- In an Information Service (INS) transmit information at appropriate times, at the request of a vessel or when deemed necessary by the VTS, for example, a sudden deterioration of weather conditions
- Previous VTS and/or Port operations experience is required.
- Recognized IALA VTS Operator Training V-103/2.
- Ex-Navy Master may be accepted a VTS Supervisor, subject to A minimum of 5 (five) years prior VTS experience.

Work Rotation: 36 days On and 28 Days Off
