PLANNING ENGINEER

 

BASIC FUNCTION

To Lead/Guide a team of planners and schedulers who prepares for TA (Turnaround) execution works from TA contractor side. Main responsibilities Includes assignment/follow up of TA contractor scope to the planners unit wise to prepare/ follow the Pre-TA, TA execution and post TA works. Guide the team of Schedulers on TA execution activities schedule preparation and progress monitoring/ reporting. Be a single focal person for all communication & updates relevant to planning /scheduling/monitoring/reporting tasks from contractor side to the company.

 

WORK PERFORMED

  • Site visits/familiarization of all units including locations, type of equipments, plant system/areas, critical path equipments execution duration estimation etc. for effective planning/scheduling the TA activities and guide the team on same objective.
  • Allocate the assignment to planners based on TA scope and units size as a complete focal person for that units relevant to planning/monitoring/reporting of the activities, work permit printing in all TA phases and closely follow with them to complete the assigned tasks on time.
  • Guide the team of schedulers to prepare the PreTA,TA execution and Post TA activities schedules in best optimized level on resource requirements and various reports as required in Primavera and the same to be submitted to company planning team for review/approval.
  • Submit daily and weekly reports on the progress of Pre TA, TA execution and Post TA activities and Manpower & Equipments available status at site throughout the TA different phases.
  • After TA integrated execution schedule finalization, planned baseline SCurves with Resource histogram for unit wise to be prepared with workable/optimized resource leveling and to be monitored/reported the same on actual during TA execution.
  • Coordinate/liaison with company TA core team and contractor site manager/unit shutdown leaders/supervisors for all TA relevant matters as required for this role.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 8 - 10 years’ experience in petrochemical/oil & gas industries maintenance/shutdown planning section.
  • At least 5 year of GCC experience in similar capacity for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical turnaround for at least two projects of similar size.
  • Knowledge and understanding of planning tools, techniques, philosophy and processes existing in an oil/gas or petrochemical industry. 

 

  • Must have Hands on experience in scheduling software such as Primavera latest version and other related project planning software. SAP knowledge is an added advantage.
  • Leadership, motivation, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient in computer on Microsoft office application.
