Key Responsibilities:
For this position, the candidate's primary responsibilities are to provide technical evaluation, considerations and proposals in the areas of radioactive and conventional waste management in support of estimating, planning and execution of the MCR Program.
In support of the radioactive and conventional waste management program for the MCR Program provide the following:
- Technical and financial evaluation, considerations and proposals as it relates to these programs in support of the MCR Program.
- Interpretation of regulations and provision of technical assistance to the MCR Program.
- Initiation and implementation of improvement initiatives to radioactive and conventional waste management.
- Coordination of all aspects of radioactive and conventional waste management for the MCR Program. Support MCR project teams in the development of detailed work plans and methods while maintaining the radiation control security of a nuclear facility.
- Preparation of reports to provide information and data to internal and external stakeholders.
- Working with internal and external stakeholders ensures all aspects of this work can be executed within all the regulatory and procedural requirements of a nuclear plant.
- Preparation of specifications for purchasing material, services or equipment providing necessary technical services.
- Keeps abreast of industry developments as it relates to these programs.
- Initiation, preparation, and implementation of new procedures or modifications to existing procedures.
- Development and delivery of course material for training workers involved in these programs.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Comprehensive knowledge of radioactive waste management and decontamination processes as it relates to a nuclear facility.
- Able to demonstrate the ability to achieve task results consistent with requirements for safety, quality, timelines, and resource allowance
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to interact positively with others by developing trust, mutual respect and cooperative working relationships
- Demonstrate dedication and commitment to ensuring project success and meeting project needs
- Demonstrated skills and understanding in the principles of good written and oral communication
- Comprehensive understanding of OHSA requirements and International Safety rules, regulations and procedures
- Comprehensive understanding of Project Management tools and techniques

Education and Experience:
- Four year university degree in an engineering or science discipline with a minimum of six years’ experience managing multi discipline project teams or, two year technician diploma and extensive experience in waste management on construction projects.
