Job Purpose:

Provides Engineering / Technical Support to Project, Operational, Maintenance, Integrity, HSE and execution activities in the field of engineering for Tanks and Static equipment associated with ADMA-OPCO’s Oil & Gas production/separation, Storex, Utilities, loading terminal activities at Das Island.

Principal Accountabilities:

Performs as Focal point for Tank Engineering Activities & functions as established by Management.

Carries out review of the contractor deliverables, design verifications, initiate & propose the engineering solutions, advise method statements, engineering co-ordination with all stakeholders etc.

Carries out vendor research for New Technologies.

Liaises with other Divisions (such as Discipline Engineering Division, Integrity Division, Brown field Division, etc.)

Advises Team Leader on issues relating to Tank, static equipment in the capital budget including the requirements of the Asset.

Maintains continuous contacts with other Divisions including Production, Maintenance, Operations, Discipline Engineering, Integrity, HSEQA and ADGAS in relation to the operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment.  He shall ensure the adherence of all personnel in the section to ADMA-OPCO’s Health Safety Environment & Quality Assurance (HSEQA).  He should carry out his tasks in accordance with the prevailing operating and maintenance procedures. He shall comply with ADMA-OPCO and Best Industry Practices.  He shall ensure adherence to UAE/Local prevailing laws and regulations relating to his work.  He shall participate, when required in multi discipline teams to carry out Risk Assessments into activities requiring additional Safety Precautions.  Attends HAZOPS/QRA etc. and if required conduct root cause analysis meetings.  Prepares scope in providing cost estimates for the revenue budget for the Asset and provides justifications for variations during execution.  Assists in the training and development of UAE National Graduates, juniors and students.

Assists in the training of UAE National Graduates both theoretically and practically. Performs other related duties such as help Project in raising BR I AFE I ERs and Service Orders, preparation of routine (daily) and special reports, ensures proper update and maintenance of technical records, assisting other mechanical personnel during emergencies etc.

Minimum Requirements [Knowledge Skills & Experience]:

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from professional Institute or College.

Minimum 15 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering job with a Major Oil and Gas Company / Engineering Consultancy dealing with Tank Engineering & Mechanical Engineering static equipments of which 5 years of which in a Supervisory capacity. It is preferable to have experience in an operating Oil & Gas company.

Age 35 – 55 years.

Specializes in API Tank design (API 650, 620), thorough knowledge on Tank Inspection, Repair, Alteration & reconstruction (API 653), Fitness for Service (API 579) etc.

Skilled in Tank design software, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), PV Elite

Acquaintance with various International / National Codes & Standards like ASME, API, TEMA, ANSI, BS, ISO etc.

Should be able to provide input to prepare Contractor’s scope of work.

Should be able to prepare Technical Specifications, Material Requisition and Purchase

Requisitions, carry out Technical Bid Evaluation & provide Technical Recommendation.

Experienced in Mechanical Design & Detailed Engineering of static equipment like Spheroids, Pressure Vessels, and Separators etc.

Should be able to handle the engineering issues independently and able to provide costeffective solutions for technical queries in order to attain stakeholders’ satisfaction.

Must possess excellent leadership, team building and strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience in detailed design, study, preparing front-end design package, tender documents preparations for minor and major plant modifications within the Oil and Gas industry.

Has advanced knowledge relating to the application and limitation of International codes and standards.

Participate / advice in safety and risk review/studies.

Carry out integrity review / studies of storage tanks, pressure vessels and static equipment.  Experienced in material and equipment selection and specifications.  Capable of preparing feasibility / optimization studies.

Carry out full audits of consultant / contractor engineering deliverables.

Carry out review and development of in-house codes and standards.

Knowledge in maintenance and project planning in the hydrocarbon processing industry.

Experience of materials procurement procedures.  Good knowledge of English both in written and spoken.

PC literate - AUTOCAD, MS Office and technical Software.

Possession of a valid UAE driving license is preferable.
