PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ROLE AND SCOPE:
- Operates, on an assigned shift, Storage & Loading areas as directed. Makes necessary adjustments based on operating conditions and maintain a variety of records such as oil/gas flow, temperature pressure etc.
(Work covers: Operates 12 crude oil storage and 1 condensate floating roof tanks, 4 crude loading pumps (gas turbine/electric driven pumps).
Principal Accountabilities:
- Day-to-day operations of the Atmospheric Parallel Interrupter (API) Separators and the dewatering process of the Crude Oil Storage (COS) tanks.
- Prepares clean cargo within the required specifications for loading tankers and ensures that the turbine meters are functioning properly and cross check against the loading tanks.
- Directs the activities of Storage & Loading Operators by implementing the programme and ensuring that all operational plants remain in good condition.
- Monitors and controls the activities of all Das Island Storage & Loading facilities and the operations Controls by DCS system, local plant controls, local and remote shut-down systems, fire and gas systems etc.
- Monitors and controls through the control room facilities the operations of the Storage & Loading plant on Das Island including instrument panels.
- Checks all plant operating parameters, flow rates, pressures, temperatures, level... etc. and detect abnormalities, recommends to Supervisor appropriate remedial actions and implements approved actions and standard emergency responses immediately. Takes required action to correct operating condition when alarms are activated.
- Directs and supervises the activities of the contracted personnel engaged in simple maintenance such as: servicing and greasing of tank roof ladders, checking and maintaining gear oil levels of all motorized valves in the tank farm, minor paint works, cleaning of signs, cleaning oil, water and scales for tank roofs.
- Supervises the dewatering process of crude oil storage (COS) tanks to the Atmospheric Parallel Interrupter (API) Seperators.
- Directs assigned Operators in the adjustment and balancing of Storage & Loading units for changes in process variables e.g. flow, pressure, temperature, level. .. etc. Guides Operators for regular checking of all plant areas and coordinates operational changes using radio for passing instructions.
- Logs and records any incidents & variations to storage & Loading area. Reports immediately any faults or breakdown of equipment, instruments or machinery.
- Maintains and monitors all storage & loading areas all times from Central Control Building using DCS system and maintained detailed log book with events during assigned shift for review by supervisor.
- Supervises the receipt, storage and export of crude oil and condensate blend. Gauges tanks before and after emptying oil lines into the tank. Ensures the lines are gas free and safe for work.
- Assists during commissioning/shutdown and repair works of crude oil lines, meter skid, tanks, valves, pumps, gas free equipment whenever applicable.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor such as; training and development of assigned personnel and UAE Nationals operating a computerized messaging system to maintain links with LNG Plant and super complexes and collecting and dispatching of crude oil samples to Abu Dhabi.
- Communicate with berthing / loading master for tanker berthing and loading operation.
- Daily contact with ZWSC & USSC for production target and updating four (4) hours production received on Storage Tanks.
- Monitoring TABK and Bunduq metering plant and carry out meter proving to ensure accuracy and follow all maintenance.
- Works in line with HSE policy, and ensure awareness and compliance of HSE rules and regulations by subordinates.
Operations/Maintenance Activities:-
- Carries out daily routine works on all plant and equipment and participates in isolating plants/equipment for major maintenance.
- Operates units and system equipment such as Pumps, Electric Motors, API Separators and controls and monitors pressure, flow, temperature, level for all equipment in the tank farm area.
- Takes required action to correct operating conditions when alarms are activated.
- Collects daily required crude oil, condensate and water samples and operates in-line samples for tank and ship loading.
- Monitors plant parameters and records in the plant log and tank levels/temperatures.
- Tours the tank-farm process areas regularly during assigned shift, checks on installation, equipment and valves to ensure smooth and safe operations of systems.
- Checks and inputs collected data for accounting purposes.
- Starts-up, shuts-down, isolates and adjusts flow rates/levels/pressures/temperatures on various operational units to achieve optimum performance.
- Gauges manually all crude oil and condensate tanks and prepares official gauging reports in the presence of assigned Government Oil Inspectors.
- Prepares equipment for maintenance/checks condition of equipment on completion of maintenance and prepares for commissioning by following an approved established procedure.
- Reports equipment and instrument defects, leaks, storage tank conditions etc. to Supervisor and in emergency situations takes possible quick actions.
- Monitors work sites, ensures fulfilling of relevant work permit conditions.
- Ensures that equipment/system is integrated safely into operation after completion of work
- Guides, directs and supervises subordinates to ensure they work to their best potential
and contribute effectively as a team. Works in line with HSE Policy, and ensure awareness
and compliance of HSE rules and regulations by subordinates.
Communications & Organisational Relationships:
- Daily contacts with work associates, Senior Storage & Loading Operators and Operations personnel up to Supervisor level to discuss activities, exchange information and receive guidance and instructions.
- Works according to standard procedures and specific instructions, using own initiative, particularly in emergency situations and when encountering non-routine events.
- Keeps Supervisor advised of work progress .
- Completed work is checked by Supervisor

Minimum Requirements [Knowledge Skills & Experience]:
- Completion of secondary technical education or equivalent.
- 5-6 years experience in an oil refinery or petrochemical complex.
- Good knowledge of English language
Preference given to Applicants with Offshore work Experience and who can join immediately
