Description

To direct the day to day administration of Station activities and supervise the movement and manning of operations with respect to pilots, riggers, support services such as workshop and diving services, aiming at effective and safe fulfillment of clients' requirements.

Job Purpose:

To direct the day to day administration of Station activities and supervise the movement and manning of operations with respect to pilots, riggers, support services such as workshop and diving services, aiming at effective and safe fulfillment of clients' requirements.

 

Key Result Areas:

Review on a daily basis the timetables for tug movement and other related aspects such as manning for pilot activities, riggers, workshop etc. And ensure all activities are adequately covered through required number of personnel.

Scrutinize leave rosters and make decisions in case of any emergency requests for leave and corresponding adjustments to be made to the roster.

Ensure the manning of client operations as per contract requirements and assign personnel with requisite valid certificates to theses duties Ensure that the necessary client documentation is completed accurately and on time.

Resolve any personnel issue or problems that may arise on the Station on a day to day basis, discussing critical or serious issues with senior for final decisions.

Ensure due induction, familiarization and training of new personnel by offering coordination support and monitoring the implementation.

Ensure compliance with safety requirements in day to day operations and participate in conduct of internal audits for SMS /HSE at the station.

Maintain daily contact with Masters of Company vessels and provide advice or answers to their queries.

Monitor port controller and watch tower activities, and take stock of daily load of operations to plan effectively.

Ensure timely completion of paperwork and formalities, in conjunction with Head Office Maintenance Section, to update documentation of vessels in line with Lloyd's standards.

Review daily data and prepare periodic reports on aspects such as non conformities, compliances with standards, etc.

Guide, direct and motivate subordinates to work effectively and perform to their best potential.

 

Knowledge Skills and Experience:

Masters Foreign Going certificate Class I. some prior pilot experience an advantage.

Alternately Chief Officer experience with Masters Certification. Good understanding of tugs and their requirements. Planning skills, people management skills and decision- making ability.

Around 10-12 years marine experience plus a few years in a managerial or administrative capacity
