JOB PURPOSE:
- Company technical authority; in the area of Seismic interpretation.
- Providing guidelines and directions to all assets on geophysical interpretation, 4D seismic /seismic inversion and associated reservoir characterization and mapping.
- Defines and updates workflows,methodologies and procedures in alignment with industry best practices.
- Provide technical support, advisory andtraining to Company staff, Acts as technical authority in domain of seismic interpretation.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Represents technical authority for Seismic interpretation in Company.
- Defines standards for Seismic interpretation across Company Asset Teams through the development of Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs).
- Supports assets in determining opportunities to develop studies to assist with reservoir characterization and surface-subsurface integration.
- Supports assets in determining opportunities to develop studies to assist with reservoir characterisation and surface-subsurface integration.
- Lead Seismic Fitness and Futures for the Region to develop the seismic strategy and processing plans for the region
- Pro-actively provide advice when potential activities are discussed and feedback to the Area Managers to aid resource and budget planning
- Identifies challenges across all assets and implements new technologies and workflows related to seismic interpretation.
- Captures lessons learned and best-practices related to seismic interpretation, and ensures their communication and consistency across assets.
- Participates directly and indirectly in technical staff development related to seismic interpretation (training, coaching,career development)
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge within the Company.
- Support less experienced team members with technical help and advice in their roles as project QA geophysicists, and with their hands-on processing tasks.
- Support and coach Company staff in seismic Interpretation data issues.
- Help coordinate and potentially deliver training programmes for junior staff members.
- Participate actively in partner meetings at asset request.
- Present project progress or reviews internally and participates actively in external workshops or conferences in Region.
- Accountable for the Company Seismic Technology Strategy and Plan
- Support and Direct the implementation of the SeismicTechnology Strategy and Plan in the Company, provide Technical support and advice to the Reservoir Management teams within the JV and the BP Global Seismic Community as required in support of their business & technical objectives
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge within the Company.

Desired Candidate Profile
QUALIFICATIONS,EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
- PhD/MSc on Seismic Interpretation/processing related subject
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- BSc degree or higher qualification in Geoscience, engineering or related discipline.
- At least 20 years of relevant Applied Geoscience experience, incl recent land seismic Acquisition, processing experience/4D seismic, including contractor QA/QC, as well as experience with hands-on processing.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Responsible for independent study and production of accurate data for appraisal and field development. Accountable for providing sedimentology and rock typing expertise to assigned Team aiming at discovery/development of new reserves as the primary objectives
- Keeps abreast of related development within the oil production industry Includes:
- Attending and representing Company in conferences,seminars and society meetings to Identify new developments in the industry of interest of the Company.
- Prepares reports/papers on such functions and circulates to supervisor and team members.
