SENIOR SPECIALIST, CARBONATE SEDIMENTOLOGY

Brief Description

Designated as senior specialist in the area of Carbonate Sedimentology. Provides guidelines and directions to all assets on potential areas in Carbonate Sedimentology, Sequence Stratigraphy and Petrography.Defines and updates workflows, methodologies and procedures in alignment with industry best practice. Provides technical support, advisory and training to Company staff. Acts as technical authority in domain of Carbonate Sedimentology and Sequence Stratigraphy.

Detailed Description

• Represents technical authority for Carbonate Sedimentology,Sequence Stratigraphy and Petrography in Company.
• Defines standards for sedimentology, diagenesis, sequence stratigraphy across Company Asset Teams
• Supports assets in determining opportunities to develop studies to assist with reservoir characterisation and surface-subsurface integration.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge& Skills

• BSc/Master in Geoscience, advanced degree is preferable in Carbonate Sedimentology or related studies
• 15 years in geology/carbonate sedimentology role, of which 5 years in a specialist role.
• Experience of Middle East carbonate and International experience is preferable.
• Track record in maturing and applying new technologies and participation in R&D projects.

Technical Competencies:

• Responsible for independent study and production of accurate data for appraisal and field development.
• Accountable for providing sedimentology and rock typing expertise to assigned Team aiming at discovery/development of new reserves as the primary objectives
• Keeps abreast of related development within the oil production industry Includes:
• Attending and representing Company in conferences, seminars and society meetings to Identify new developments in the industry of interest of the Company.
• Prepares reports/papers on such functions and circulates to supervisor and team members.

Additional Details

• Occasional field trips to attend unusual operations.
• More than 50% of the working time is spent on core workshop visits which involve driving and walking.
• The Balance Of The Working Time Involves Minimal Physical exertion.
• Normally Air-Conditioned Office,With Occasional Trips To Field Locations.
