Job Purpose:
Provides technical advice and guidance to operating Divisions on all rotating machinery aspects, conducts periodical performance testing of machinery to plan for maintenance and avoid unscheduled shutdowns, prepares detailed specifications and designs of rotating machinery and develops solutions to improve their reliability, efficiency and reduce maintenance frequency and cost, performs technical audit and initiates recommendations to Company Management …etc.
(Work covers rotating machinery in all Company concessional areas, including Offshore and Onshore locations).
Principal Accountabilities:
Writes scopes of works for consultants/specialists and secures approval/endorsement by Supervisors prior to forwarding for Contracts Department action. Acts as Job Officer for the development of major projects engineered locally includes: co-ordinating the finalisation of the design and preparation of drawings, specifications and bills of materials, acquisition of data for assigned discipline’s projects engineered by consultants/specialists or managing engineers. Prepares technical purchase specifications for the procurement of new rotating machinery, provides technical input for bids’ evaluation and ensures their Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT’s) complies with Company requirement. Recommends and supervises the execution of rotating machinery modifications and upgrading.
Controls and screens the design of job/managing engineers’ projects to ensure that approved Company standards, codes and specifications are met, review work progress, and keeps Supervisor advised. Contributes to technical evaluation of suppliers’ bids for machinery equipment. Initiates and prepares requisitions for purchase of machinery. Carries out technical audits to ensure conformity of machinery with standards. Checks and vets Consultants’ claims prior to endorsement/approval by Supervisors for payment as appropriate.
Provides technical advice and is the technical authority to Operating Divisions on assigned machinery engineering problems/requests. Attends Pre-tender Site Meetings as Company’s Technical Advisor. Liaises with Planning & Estimating Section to issue cost estimates for the approved construction packages. Liaises with Operating Integrity Department (OID) to influence adoption of standards and specifications that meet ADMA operating objectives whilst being constructible maintainable.
Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor such as: keeping abreast with the new technologies and developments in rotating machinery and assessing their suitability for more efficient operations, conducting special studies, answering technical queries, contributing to the preparation of the Department’s Budget, preparing training and development programmes for new engineers, conducting rotating machinery courses for Engineers and Supervisors within the Company, adhering to and implementing approved safety regulations/programmes within the unit ….etc.
Communications & Organisational Relationships:
Frequent contacts within the Engineering Division upto Departmental Head level to agree on work plans and for exchange of information.
Frequent contacts with other Operating and Technical Divisions’ personnel upto Departmental Head level to provide technical advice and assistance.
Frequent contacts with Consultants/Specialists/Managing Engineers, contractors and suppliers to provide briefings, specifications, advice and to discuss progress and assess the capability to provide services.
Determines work methods from several alternatives guided by professional engineering standards and established Company’s procedures.
Completed work is subject to general review by Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements [Knowledge Skills & Experience]:
B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering (Power)
8-9 years related experience in rotating machinery with at least 3 years in Supervisory capacity.
Very Good knowledge of English.
Preference given to Candidates with Offshore work Experience
