Job Purpose:

Directs and controls the activities of the assigned Operators in the frequent adjustment and balancing of the Panels Production Units for changes in process variables includes; (flow, pressure, temperature, level).

(Work covers all the activities area of Gas condensate unit, LNG Manifold, D&D, onshore and offshore flares).

Principal Accountabilities:

Ensures the safe and efficient operations of all production plants. Monitors and controls the operations in the Central Control Room via Distributed Control system.  Directs and supervises the receipt, storage and export of crude oil and condensate blend.

Monitors and controls the activities of all Das Island Process Operations through DCS system, local plant controls, local and remote shut-down systems, fire and gas systems.

Monitors and controls through the control room facilities the operations of the production plant on Das Island including instrument panels, (for flow, pressure, and temperature, level) and the whole tank-farm areas for storage and export activities.

Directs and supervises the assigned Operators in the adjustment and balancing of units for changes in process variables e.g. flow, pressure, temperature, level.  Instructs and guides Operators for regular checking of all plant areas and coordinates operational changes.

Maintains and monitors all process plant all times from Central Control Building using DCS system and maintains detailed log book with events during the assigned shift for review by Supervisor.

Checks all plant operating parameters, flow rates, pressures, temperatures, level and detects abnormalities, recommends to Supervisor appropriate remedial actions and implements approved actions and standard emergency responses immediately.

Takes required action to correct operating condition when alarms are activated.  Maintains and coordinates communication links with LNG Plant, Offshore Complexes, Fire & rescue services and HSE for variations to the plant which may cause problems.

Reports immediately any faults or breakdown of equipment, instruments or machinery.  Assists during commissioning/shutdown and repair works of crude oil lines, valves, pumps, gas free equipment wherever applicable.

Trains, develops and follows up the development of young nationals to ensure successful completion of development programs, and integration as part of the working Team.

Guides, directs and supervises subordinates to ensure they work to their best potential and contribute effectively as a Team.

Minimum Requirements [Knowledge Skills & Experience]:

Higher Diploma or equivalent

6 years’ experience in oil refinery/petrochemical/processing operations with Distributed Control System (DCS) operations knowledge, control rooms and loading operations.

Good knowledge of English Language.
