ROLE AND SCOPE
Operates and monitors Distributed Control System (DCS) for USGIF(Ummshaif Gas Injection Facilities), relatedwell head towers and interconnected platforms at US Field to ensure safe and efficient operation and to ensure the company’s gas injection targets are met in terms of quality and quantity. Ensure the availability of the plant by directing the production operators to carry out plant adjustments and corrective actions as required. Prepare production daily and monthly reports.
Work covers all utilities and process operations area on USGIF including all utilities for accommodation and CP-1, Slug catcher, GSU, GDU, GIC, Flare System, and Remote Wellhead gas Towers (WHT 251/272/290) operated by telemetry.)
Liaises with USSC to monitor and control the Helicopter and Marine movements with in USGIF.
ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIP / LATITUDE
- Daily contacts with work associates and personnel in the Operation Team including USSCCCRand CSP-1 LER up to USGIFSupervisor level to discuss production/injection plan targets, production/injection operating activities and requirements and implementation of maintenance activities and progress.
- Daily contacts with personnel in Tower and & Pipe lines Operation team up to Supervisor level to discuss gas well availability and operation requirement.
- Works according to established procedures, specialised technical standards and safety instructions, using own initiative, judgement in adjusting plant conditions - particularly in emergency situations.
WORK PERFORMED
I. Main Duties and Responsibilities
a. Operations activities:

- Operates the DCS (Distributed Control System) for plants start-up operations and shutdown in order to meet Company’s objectives and gas production targets.
- Monitors all plants and gas wellhead towers conditions (WHT 251/272/290) such as flow rates, pressures, temperatures, levels, etc, through displays, graphics and trend logs.
- Operates the plants Fire and Gas detection and Fire protection systems.
- Makes minor plant adjustments when necessary and reports any serious faults to the Supervisor with appropriate remedial actions, implements immediately the approved actions, procedures and standard emergency responses.
- Takes immediate corrective actions to limit risk to personnel, plant equipment and production during emergency situations.
- Controls the injection rate of all plant chemicals to ensure safe and proper control of gas quality and minimise corrosion.
- Prepares plant-operating reports as requested by Production Supervisor or Platform Manager.
- In emergency situations ensures the safe shutdown, isolation and blow down of relevant plant.
b. Work control

- Directs and guides plant shift operators and helpers for all external manual plant operations / changes using radio for passing instructions.
- Checks to ensure required quality control analysis, for evaluation of plant performance and maintenance of efficient operation, such as gas dew point, glycol pHs, fuel gas specification, amine strength…..etc.
- Reports immediately to Supervisor any faults or break down of equipment or machinery.
- Maintains detailed events and fault log books during the assigned shift for review by Supervisor.
- Identifies and investigates any faults and inform the concerned departments, for remedial action.
c. H S E Role

- Adheres to Company’s HSE policy, standards and approved operating procedures while performing the duties / tasks.
- Ensures the safety of plant shift operators / helpers / servicemen and plant equipment.
- Takes active part in all aspects of HSE safety programme, attending group meetings, emergency exercise, drills and hazard identification / reporting.
- Assists the Supervisor for annual H S E programme implementation.
II. Subsidiary Activities

- ]Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor such as taking part in training / developing new recruits / UAE National Employees / Developees, implementing orientation programmes, preparing necessary reports, plant shutdown and start-up procedures and preparing isolation confirmation certificate - ICC etc.

7. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of Secondary Education followed by two years formal training leading to a technical diploma.
- 4-5 years experience in a Refinery, chemical plant or offshore production plant operations including experience of DCS operation.
- Good knowledge of English language.
