Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Credit Review and Analysis

  • Assess credit quality of a variety of corporate bond offerings and industries using a variety of research sources including but not limited to the internet, Bloomberg, financial reports, and SEC filings
  • Monitor and make recommendations regarding exposures to respective industries
  • Actively monitor the existing bond portfolio working closely with various portfolio managers
  • Formally assign and rate investment grade and high yield credits and industries bi-annually
  • Perform quarterly portfolio reviews and prepare written research reports on assigned issuers or industries
  • Perform month-end pricing in conjunction with Investment Accounting

Credit Management and Trading Recommendations

  • Make investment recommendations on the purchase or sale to the various portfolio managers
  • Effectively communicate with and critically analyze comments of CEO’s, CFO’s and Investor Relations Officers at large national and international Corporations
  • Utilize investment research skills to partner with underwriting and other functional areas of the corporation to assist in the New Business and Renewal process providing company specific analysis and industry assessments
  • Assume responsibilities for special projects or other duties when required
  • Source, conduct investment due diligence/underwrite, monitor and communicate with third-party traditional investment managers through regular calls, meetings, and on-sites with management
  • Develop and maintain research relationships with investment managers, industry contacts, and research vendors covering investments in equity, fixed income, and non-traditional strategies across fund, ETF, alternative, and separately managed account.
  • Act as lead member on team, guiding and mentoring peers, representing group as a tenured expert, contributing to the training and development of colleagues.
  • Generate research and collaborate with team to disseminate relevant manager information, market commentary, thought leadership, and asset allocation strategy to advisors on a regular basis. Provide relevant research insights and provide a high-level of client service;
  • Help position business at the forefront of competitive with market trends
  • Coordinate with integrated third party investment platforms and research partners
  • Business development: participating in client and prospect meetings to articulate investment process and value proposition
  • Participate in other projects as requested by management and other team members.
  • Attend industry-related conferences and events; conduct research and client meetings as needed.

 

Job Specific Requirment:

  • MBA required in finance, accounting, economics or other related field.
  • Bachelor's degree, emphasis in Finance, Economics, or Accounting preferred
  • International Financial Certification (i.e. ACCA, CGMA, CMA, CFA) with experience in Mergers and Acquisitions etc. preferred.
  • Excellent written and communications skills, with the demonstrated ability to clearly and quickly communicate ideas and recommendations verbally and in writing
  • Superior excel or other spread sheeting technology and ability to learn new software and utilize external quantitative tools that value corporate credit risk required
  • Strong financial research skills, producing and maintaining quantitative financial models
  • Excellent problem solving skills, documentation skills and ability to work independently
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, team orientation, and commitment to excellence
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Thorough understanding of holistic investment advice and asset management industry
  • 10+ years directly related investment consulting, HNW advisory, asset management, or family office experience
  • Proficient in performance analytics software
  • Comprehensive understanding of investment products, portfolio construction, securities operations, and the servicing requirements of specific clients
  • Strong analytical and presentations skills
  • Critical-thinker, solutions-focused, ability to manage an array of workflows
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter, positive attitude, team player.

Preferred for Selection:

Experience in large industrial Capital Project environments.
