Job Details
Missions :
- Lead and perform nuclear criticality safety evaluations and analyses
- Lead and perform nuclear criticality safety computer calculations using the computer modeling programs
- Lead and perform independent review of evaluations and analyses, including verification of assumptions and the adequacy of calculations
- Lead and perform comparisons of operating area conditions and activities with nuclear safety limits, assumptions and requirements
- Ensure that nuclear criticality safety limits, assumptions and requirements are correctly stated in operating procedures
- Establish and maintain effective nuclear criticality safety engineering standards within the regulatory requirements of the NRC and within the the Company design license basis documents
- Provide leadership and coordination of engineering projects and assist in the establishment of knowledge, experience and programs required for effective implementation
Profile
- The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelors degree in Nuclear Engineering from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two (2) years of experience is supporting a nuclear facility in the performance of Criticality Safety Analyses or working in a criticality safety organization.
Job level will be determined based upon years of experience.
- All candidates should have a working understanding of engineering principles and problem solving techniques.
- Strong mathematics and working with complex calculations. In addition, candidates will be expected to communicate and work effectively with other organizations to resolve technical issues and to implement engineering outputs.
- Candidates must also have the ability to take direction and function as a team member or lead to solve a variety of engineering problems.
- Candidates must have excellent computer skills and the ability to follow written procedures and instructions.
