Job purpose & Scope:

Provide efficient supervision, inspection and technical approval in relation to the provision of scaffolding access at sites as may be required for the repairs, maintenance and refurbishment of company facilities.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Ensures contractors implementation of scaffolding Tag system.
• Monitors contractors personnel, aptitude and performance.
• Ensures contractors applications are in accordance with relevant codes of practices in relation to both scaffolding and safety.
• Confirms contractors estimated material requirements, receipt of delivery, conformity and quantities.
• Prepares comprehensive reports on scaffolding requirements including load-bearing calculations.
• Signs scaffolding tag and inspection register for scaffolding as company authority.
• Carries out other similar or related duties.
• Performs duties in a safe, professional and efficient manner, complying with HSE Requirements related to all job activities. Familiarize & maintain proper and continuous knowledge of Company’s HSE procedures, rules and regulations & abide by them at all times.
• Monitor and develop UAE Nationals.

Organizational Relationships (Work Contacts):

Regular contacts with all site sections in regard to work progress and status and scaffolding work approval. Regular contacts with contractors, scaffolding supervisor and scaffolding personnel.

Independence of Operations and Decision-making Authority: 

Works in accordance with company procedures and technical standards of the trade, has a fair degree of independence in recommendations of actions to be taken.

Works along guidelines given by the hierarchy. Liaises with concerned personnel (company & contractors) on work progress.

Is expected to have initiative in trying to solve all day to day problems concerning scaffolding works.

Physical Effort:

Active involvement in all scaffolding Activities.

Work Environment:

Approx. 80% of the time on site exposed to prevailing weather conditions Remainder of the time in air conditioned units to prepare reports/logs etc.

Minimum Requirements:

• Certified member of recognized professional body, i.e. C.I.T.B or equivalent.
• 10 years broad based experience in scaffolding industry at supervisory level. A Minimum 5 years of experience in the petrochemical/oil related industry both on and offshore locations, including well head platforms.
• Very good command of written and spoken English.

Preference given to Candidates with Offshore work Experience.
