JOB PURPOSE :
The Senior Specialist Production Optimization is Company Onshore technical authority, for all Production Optimization and Well Performance aspects related with petroleum engineering, who provides expert advice related to Production Optimization matters to help Subsurface and Surface Teams achieve their objectives in the areas of Technology Management, Technical Challenges, Standard Practices and Knowledge Sharing. This position requires someone with breadth and depth of technical knowledge and experience as well as excellent interpersonal skills.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
JobSpecific Accountabilities
- Provides assetteams with expert advice and consultation in all Production Optimizationactivities and technical related studies.
- Promoteseffective integration of the key aspects of Production Optimization with otherdisciplines related to petroleum engineering.
- Promotesintroduction of new production optimization technologies in Company Onshore.
- Developsstandard practices and guidelines and promotes their application in Company Onshore.
- Promotesknowledge sharing between teams through forums, workshops, technology fogroups, etc.
- Supportsefforts to develop petroleum engineer staff with special emphasis on UAENationals.
- Promotescommunication within the Company Onshore subsurface and surface community relatedto oil production optimization and petroleum engineer.
- Promotesproduction optimization learning across petroleum engineering community within Company Onshore.
- Promotescontinuous improvement, results oriented culture, feedback loops and group peerreviews.
- Promotesindustry best practices related to production optimization.
- Promotes acoherent link between well and surface models focusing on productionoptimization.
- Focal sourceon technical area of specialization.
- End results ofown-decisions taken in the context of job scope.
- Availabilityof up-to date processes, procedures, standards and technology.
- Staffdevelopment and knowledge sharing & transfer across Company’s Onshorepetroleum engineering community.
Generic Accountabilities
Supervision
- Plan,supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functionalobjectives.
- Train anddevelop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to becomeproficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.
Budgets
- Provide inputfor preparation of the Section / Department budgets and assist in theimplementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Sectionobjectives.
- Investigateand highlight any significant variances to support effective performance andcost control
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Implementapproved Section / Department policies, processes, systems, standards andprocedures in order to support execution of the Section’s / Department workprograms in line with Company and International standards.
Performance Management
- Contribute tothe achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Section /Department in line with the Company Performance framework.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Design andimplement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency ofoperational processes.
- Identifyimprovements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greaterefficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutionsfor issues confronting the function .
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
- Comply withrelevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation andsustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and Company Code of Practices.
Reports
- Provide inputsto prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management .
- 5. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKINGRELATIONSHIPS:
Internal
- Regularcontact with Executive Team and Assets’ Management.
- Builds strongrelationships with related divisions up to the level of Vice President on workrelated issues.
External
- Occasional contact with Company upstream, industry Shareholders, and OPCOs to share industrylead practices and information.
- Occasionalcontact with contractors and service providers to maintain businessrelationships with key external technology providers
Additional Details
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
MinimumQualification
- M.Sc. inReservoir/Petroleum/Chemical Engineering or equivalent. Ph.D. is preferable.
- Excellent spoken and writtenEnglish.
MinimumExperience & Knowledge & Skills
- 15 to 20 yearsin technical discipline (relevant to job scope), of which 8 years as specialistrole or 3 years in a leadership position related to production optimization.
- Track recordin maturing and applying new or uncommon technologies
- Subject matterpublications.
