PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ROLE AND SCOPE:

• Provides technical support to Field production and process facilities including diagnosing, troubleshooting and recommending appropriate solutions for problems occurring in the areas of Gas, Oil and Utilities. Monitors Oil & Gas facilities performance, analyses any abnormalities/maintenance failures and proposes advance remedial measures. Participates in reviewing and commenting on studies conducted by the concerned technical Divisions on design/operations of Field facilities and engineering documents related to projects being implemented. Reviews scope of work for various projects provided by Engineering Division. Participates in performance tests as and when required. Performs technical evaluation of bids.
  
  (Work covers process and gas production facilities in USSC).

Principal Accountabilities:

Operations/Maintenance Activities:- 

• Provides/coordinates operational technical advice/input for long and short term oil & Gas production facilities and troubleshoots any arising problems such as; chokes, flow measurement devices, lift curves ... etc. including diagnosing causes and recommending appropriate actions
• Analyses results of peiformance tests of production facilities, analyses data such as, temperature, pressure, flows, utilities & chemical consumption, maintenance failures, highlights problems and recommends economical/sound solutions to achieve Company's output objectives
• Compiles and analyses data of Gas system feeding/leaving Field Supercomplex for performance measures
• Performs process calculations e.g. mass, energy, balance ... etc. across units and equipment, highlights and recommends remedial measures for any abnormalities,
• Makes relevant calculations to forecast deterioration of equipment peiformance to alert site personnel for advance actions
• Participates in the operations facilities audit activities as and when required.

Technical Input/Projects Activities:-

• Evaluates technically, in co-ordination with Quality & Integrity Assurance Department and Engineering Division, contractors bids including; comparison of bidders technical information with Company's tender specifications, seeking technical clarification, suggesting specifications revision, ... etc. and submits technical report to Supervisor
• Studies and comments on engineering documents of major projects
• Participates in various engineering studies such as; risk assessment studies, HAZOP, HAZID, PHSER reviews at various stages of different projects, as assigned by Supervisor
• Reviews/participates in the preparation of contractors scope of work for various/specialised projects
• Participates in the preparation of detailed scope of specific projects and other major studies petformance tests ... etc.

Co-ordination Role:-

• Co-ordinates operational problems raised by site personnel with various Departments/Divisions and follows-up until rectification
• Co-ordinates with concerned Divisions/Departments and reviews the evaluation and selection of new chemicals
• Co-ordinates as job officer, inputs from specialists/engineers, site, safety as appropriate and prepares an action plan for implementation.

HSE Role:-

• Ensures fall awareness and compliance with HSEM system
• Petforms CTA/Risk Assessments. Near Miss Analysis and environmental control.

Other Related Duties:

• Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor such as:
  participates in various tasks force, evaluates of various suggestions/ideas for improvements of the plant operations. keeps technical records of all process plants, attends various routine and non routine meetings.
• generating spreadsheet based programmes and charts for easy analysis of data, acting for Supervisor during /eave/absence, attending meetings and writing technical reports, training Junior UAE Nationals, Etc.

Communications & Organisational Relationships:

• Regular contacts with site personnel upto Senior Engineer level to update status of current jobs and provide technical operational assistance as necessary.
• Regular contacts with Engineering Division/Quality & Integrity Assurance Dept. upto Snr. Engineer level to discuss/co-ordinate technical operation aspects related to USSC facilities.
• Works according to Company established policy, procedures, approved work programmes and professional engineering standards.
• Completed work is subject to review by Supervisor .

Minimum Requirements [Knowledge Skills & Experience]:

• Bachelor degree in Chemical or Process Engineering or equivalent.
• 6 years experience in operation/maintenance of oil/gas production or petrochemical process plants, in and oil or oil related industry with relevant knowledge of PC operation.
• Very good knowledge of English.

Preference given to Applicants with Offshore work Experience and who can join immediately
