(Work covers: process plant, utilities and storage area, tanker berths, central manifold platform (CMP), flare lines, sub-station and non-industrial painting.

Job Purpose

Carries out general supervision to all painting activities on Company's operational facilities on field. Supervision and controls all painting activities carried out by contractors to ensure adherence to companies and manufacture's painting specification and standards. Inspects, assesses with assistance of paint inspectors coating and detects/records corrosion evidence and coating breakdown. (Work covers: process plant, utilities and storage area, tanker berths, central manifold platform (CMP), flare lines, sub-station and non-industrial painting.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

Directs and controls the activities of a team of contracted personnel involved in painting company's operational facilities and industrial structure such as: process plant, utilities and storex areas, tanker berths, central manifold platform (CMP), flare lines, sub-stations and nonindustrial painting.

Ensures that all painting works are carried out in compliance with ADMA-OPCO Painting manual- MNL- 01 Rev. 3a, and other relevant specifications for non-industrial painting works, (e.g. BS 6150-2006: painting of building code of practice carrying out all the quality control checks as per the quality control plan, completing all the necessary inspection requirements, inspection reports, daily logs and maintaining permanent records for each project.

Outlines foreseen Painting/Coating/GFRP lining/Fireproofing construction problems and suggest/propose solutions.

Reviews and comments on the contractors submittals such as quality control management systems, specific quality control plans, inspection and test plan including all inspection requirements, HSE plans, Paint specifications, method statements, risk assessments, proposed paint material submittals, paint material safety data, drawings, work schedules, manpower histogram, equipment submittals - (Painting/Coating/GFRP lining/Fireproofing), work progress reports.

Co-ordinates all the painting activities with Originators of painting requests, and the process supervisors on the daily works.

Applies for work permits, provide immediate supervision on the contractors site activities to make sure that all permit conditions are met and the planned works are implemented safely and professionally in accordance with company regulations/requirements, as well as the international, codes and standards.

Investigates and reports on site painting problems and discuss with others the solution to these problems. Co-ordinate with the Facility and Integrity to apply site instructions if required. Follow up on remedial actions and implementation and verify any additional works. Participated periodical plat survey along with DFIT coating inspectors.

Checks all paint materials received to ensure compliance with the specifications, keep records of all the material delivered to the contractor, follow up materials delivery to maintain works continuity.

Replies to the contractor's painting/coating/GFRP lining/Fireproofing queries and follow up with the discipline Engineer.

Works in line with HSE policy, and ensure awareness and compliance of HSE rules and regulations by subordinates

 

Minimum Requirements [Knowledge Skills & Experience]:

Bachelor Degree in Civil engineering and Certificate in NACE, ERS, or equivalent.

5 - 6 Years of experience in mechanical/painting construction works of which at least 3 years' experience in protective coating and industrial painting, involving structural steel works vessels, pipework's, major overhaul internal lining of vessels, separators, tanks. Experience of maintenance painting/inspection in field environment.

Knowledge of the following standards and codes- API, SSPC, ISO 8501 , BS 4800.

Possession of a valid U.A.E driving license.

Good knowledge of the English language.
