BASIC FUNCTION

Acts as the main point of interface with Company on all matters concerning the contract; responsible for the overall sustainability of the Operations, Health, Safety, Environment, assets and setting up Terminal‘s SOP‘s for safe and efficient operations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible of efficient use, allocation, and management of human resources and equipment resources in the container terminal. 

Managing frontline operations of the Container Terminal.

Responsible for the yards, ships and gates planning and daily operations. In addition to the lining station and the plant day to day operations.

Establish operation / production goals and efficiency levels Setting up and review regularly operational SOP‘s, implement and monitor the safe application of the SOP‘s.

Setting up HSE regulations and guidelines, review and monitor implementing same to ensure safety of staff and assets during operations. Co—ordinate and monitor the use of ' PPE and safety tools. Responsible for enforcing the environmental rules, regulations and policies at the container terminal areas.

Setting up maintenance SOP‘s and follow up the impiementation and set up preventive maintenance pian and monitor impiementation with regular review of same,

Setting up the implementation of the Fatal Risk Standards and Safety Management System and to ensure Its comphance WIth Company and Internatlonal safety standards.

Lead and conduct routine inspections related to fire and safety, therefore ensuring all operations areas are compliant in all matters related to safety.

Lead and ensure all health, safety and environment equipment including pollution equipment are inspected, tested and maintained efficiently to meet emergency situations.

Setting up of database for hazardous cargoes including characteristics / properties of such cargoes and their handling procedures in case of emergency.

Develop emergency response program in case of calamities in compliance with Company  guidelines and regulations.

Setting up and provide safety training for all managed personnel 

Record and maintain database of all safety inspections conducted to follow up and identify corrective actions,

Record and maintain database of all HSE training, incident / accident investigation with follow up and corrective actions.

Co— ordinate with Company management and local authorities as applicable during emergencies to mitigate loss of life injuries and damages to assets.

Assist (or lead as requested by Company to investigate accidents / incidents to identify root causes, identify corrective actions and implementation to prevent same.

Develop, lead and ensure regular quality TBT are carried out at various levels addressing safety and procedural issues.

Monitor quality for inspecting and Cleaning containers as per Company quality regulations and the guidelines of ”CL.

Monitor the equipment and spare parts inventory control. 

Monitor downtimes, breakdowns, technical condition and maintenance of equipment and facilities.

Responsible for the timely submission and presentation of periodic KPI Reports to Company SSC VP and Terminal Manager.

Conducts joint performance review weekly meetings with the Terminal Manager and discuss improvement areas.

Primarily responsible for the strict impiementation of HSE regulations inside the worksite and as well as in the temporary facilities like labour camp, etc.

Explores opportunities to save on operating costs and / or create synergies that will help increase operational efficiency and quality of service.

Sends monthly operations and CONTRACT invoicing / payment financial report to Head Office under copy to Terminal Manager.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

Engineering or Bachelors/ shipping BSC or Master Mariner Degree Holder with remarkable scholastic record.

10 years professional hands-on experience in container terminal operations with last 5 years in senior management operation positions at containers terminal with minimum throughput of 300000 TEU‘s.

Experience in container terminal‘s frontline planning, yards , ships planning, gates in and out planning.

Has Strong HSE backgrounds and HSE training and incident/ accident investigation .

Has at least 5 years strong Container Terminal Equipment maintenance and mobilization experience including spare parts inventory.

Has at least 5 years strong hands-on experience with container terminal IT management system ( TOS ).

Excellent written and oral communications skill.

Can handle pressure and willing to work long hours and weekends / holidays,

Has the ability to deal with people from all levels of the organization.

Good management ability to dedicate jobs, duties and responsibilities to subordinates.
