1. Job Purpose:
Plans, directs and controls the routine PM, CM and breakdown maintenance of electrical power generation equipment, process/utility plant and distribution equipment in the Asset Unit. Ensures efficient running and reliability of equipment. Reviews and comments on brown field schemes, packages, modifications proposed by Engineering Division. Controls the disposal of hazardous and normal waste of electrical items. Maintains critical spare parts for electrical equipment. Provides technical support during implementation of electrical projects work.
(The Electrical network includes gas turbine generators, Emergency Diesel Generators, HV switchgears up to 33kV and associated control panels, Electrical Control and Monitoring System, transformers, circuit breakers, DC battery chargers, UPS system, cables, motors, lighting, earthing and air-conditioning equipment).
2. Principal Accountabilities:
- To maintain the reliability and integrity of the electrical network at NASR.
- Controls the generation distribution of power and operation of HV and LV distribution networks and all isolations/De isolations carried out on electrical installations at asset unit.
- Strictly implement the safety regulations on electrical system as stipulated in HSE-102 at NASR asset unit.
- Issues and controls isolation certificates/electrical work permits in accordance with ADMA safety regulations and the general rules relative to control and safe operation and maintenance of electrical apparatus on power network.
- Controls and administers maintenance work request of all electrical systems through Maximo at NASR.
- Plans, directs and controls the activities of Electrical Foreman/Technicians and contracted personnel including setting priorities, assigning tasks and checking completed work.
- Condition monitoring and implementation of corrective action on electrical network at asset unit.
- To troubleshoot and rectify all faults on electrical system and machinery including associated control gear of switchgears up to 33kV, transformers, circuit breakers, DC battery chargers, UPS system,, motors, lighting, earthing, air-conditioning equipment and US Field periphery navigation lighting system.
- Raise and execute plant modification request to enhance the performance of electrical network.
- Performs maintenance for all HVAC Systems at NASR. Supervise and monitor the performance of HVAC system at NASR.
- Provides technical support during implementation of electrical project work. Reviews and comments on brown field schemes, packages, modifications proposed by Engineering Division.
- Regular contacts with personnel in Commercial Division at equivalent level to discuss subjects related to material / spare parts supply.
- Conducts group safety meetings for subordinates. Carries out self-auditing, planned inspection and critical items inventories. Takes charge of Power Generation/Distribution in emergencies. Ensures equipment conforms to relevant hazardous area regulation and ensures maintenance of appropriate level of housekeeping.
- Controls and administers the implementation of site waste management system including segregation, storage, raising waste advisory and chain of custody forms and dispatch of waste.
- Plans and participates in the ongoing training and development of assigned UAE national employees. Includes assessing employees training and development needs, directing the preparation of structured development/familiarization programs, monitoring and reporting on progress and counseling employees, as required.
- Maintaining records, preparing reports, vetting prospective contracted personnel, assessing subordinates performance, assisting in pre-commissioning and commissioning of new projects. etc.

- Daily contacts with work associates on the Super complex up to Site Maintenance Team Leader level regarding electrical services and other related operations.
- Works according to Company’s established procedures and technical standards. Exercises considerable latitude in maintaining the power supply and distribution systems.
- Completed work is subject to review by Supervisor.

8. Minimum Requirements [Knowledge Skills & Experience]:
- Secondary technical certificate followed by 3 years formal training leading to a diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- 6 years experience in power generation and distribution and preferably in offshore oil installations.
- Good knowledge of English.
