Job Description |
1) Develop a working knowledge of the diving functions and operations of a decompression chamber. 2) Ensure that the required diving and survival equipment is in good and safe operating condition. \3) Obtain soil test samples and photographs of marine landscape to assess work location and monitor the work development. 4) Record any problems found during the inspection and promptly report them to the supervisor. 5) Ensure that all equipment is fitted with the appropriate safety devices. 6) Follow safety instructions and use correct safety equipment prior to starting any required projects. 7) Perform offshore oil and gas exploration and extraction duties such as conducting subsea construction, underwater surveys, underwater searches, salvage, recovery and cleanup operations, and the repair and maintenance of drilling rigs and platforms. 8) Take appropriate safety precautions such as the monitoring of dive lengths and depths and registration with relevant authorities prior to the start of diving expeditions. 9) Ensure consistent compliance in accordance with IMCA (International Marine Contractors Association), Company policies & codes and HSE standards. |
Skills Required | • High school certificate. • 3 years’ experience in offshore oil field construction/inspection. • Completion of diver training module of IMCA recognized surface supplied diver qualification. • Current & valid HSE Part 1 or equivalent. • Current & valid medical certificate. • Current & valid survival certificate for geographical area of work. • Current & valid first aid certificate or diver medic training certificate. • Current & valid certificate for appropriate level. (Inspection work only). • Good English language skills. • The ability to work in dark waters. • Working knowledge of operating diving equipment. • Knowledgeable of IMCA international Codes of Practice and work standards. • Stamped and signed dive log book. |
