Mechanical & Rotating Machinery Team Leader
Job Purpose:
Supervises and coordinates all the mechanical and rotating machinery activities within the Field related to all aspects of the project including providing design, recommendations and reviews of project documents while overseeing testing, requirements, and improvements of all mechanical and rotating machinery while also ensuring alignment to project goals and the proper execution of same within budgets, contracts and time schedules.
Principal Accountabilities:
Assists the Manager in preparing the Field budget. Monitors the financial performance versus the budget, and updates the Manager Umm Lulu Field on deviations and gaps with proposals on how to improve performance.
Organizes and supervises the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within the Mechanical & Rotating Machinery team is carried out in an efficient manner which is consistent with Companies operating procedures and policy as well as the shareholders’ guidelines.
Provides on-the-job training and constructive feedback to all subordinates to supports their overall development as well as develops and supports the personal and professional development of UAE Nationals in order to contributes in preparing a UAE National workforce that drives Company and achieves its - and its shareholders” - business objectives.
Oversees the work of subordinates and the mechanical and rotating machinery team while providing guidance and ensuring lessons learned from previous experiences or projects are reflected in the team‘s work to avoid repetition of mistakes.
Conducts detailed engineering review of mechanical and rotating machinery designs in order to make certain operational requirements are incorporated and communicate identified improvements opportunities to the Field Manager in order to ensure quality assurance, and quality of supplies as per the communicated specifications.
Recommends design specifications for mechanical and rotating machinery during the pre-operations phase in order to ensure adherence to international standards and operational requirements.
Attends engineering reviews and run Factory Acceptance Tests at vendor yards while ensuring machinery integration and provision of safety protections in order to ascertain operational suitability.
Follows up on engineering safety requirement studies including HAZOP and HAZID, while ensuring the implementation of safety guidelines and operational efficiency.
Supervises the subordinate’s daily activities to ensures their compliance to all relevant QHSSE management policies, procedures, and controls as well as shareholders” guidelines in order to contribute in providing a safe, world class, secure, and environmentally responsible workplace to employees and contractors.
Guides subordinates in the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices while taking into account international Leading practices and technologies in the Oil & Gas spectrum, improvement of business processes, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
Supervises the effective implementation of policies, systems, and procedures all relevant procedural/ operational/ legislative/ shareholder requirements and guidelines are fulfilled while delivering a quality and cost-effective service.
Supervises and provides inputs in the preparation of timely and accurate statements, studies, and reports to meet the Umm Lulu and SARB Asset Business Unit and the SARB Field division requirements, policies and standards.
Minimum Requirements Knowledge Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any other equivalent.
10 - 12 years of experience in site operations focusing on mechanical engineering and rotating machinery and instrumentation within the Oil 8: Gas industry with at least five years’ experience in a senior supervisory role.
Knowledge of rotating machinery systems/tools/techniques/practices and maintenance.
Good team management and leadership, decision making, conceptual thinking, problem solving, ability to work under pressure, computer proficiency, project management.
Fluent in written and spoken English, and communication and interpersonal skills.
