PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Directs, supervises and participates in carrying out the activities of mechanical maintenance fabrication, welding and repairs of plants equipment and installations in the Utilities Section. (Utilities plants comprise: steam generation, saltwater intake distribution, potable water production, storage and distribution, air compressors, pumps, D &D Plant, ... etc.)

WORK PERFORMED:

MAIN DUTIES.AND RESPONSIBILITIES.:-

Directs and supervises the mechanical maintenance and repairs activities of D & D Plant, boiler plant, distillation plant, air compressor station... etc. carried out by Technicians and contractors' personnel; includes receiving approved work orders/instructions from Supervisor, discussing and consulting to set priorities, assigning task.s to subordinates, arranging for obtaining work permits and materials/spares as requested and checking/inspecting completed work.

Attends to emergency jobs, particularly at the D & D Plant, distillation units, boilers and compressor house and personally carries out or guides assigned Technicians in carrying out required work.

Prepares stores requisitions, obtains approval and arranges for collection.

Receives from Supervisor planned maintenence schedule and arranges for implementation in liaison with operating Sections.

Controls a small store with first-line spares, materials, tools and consumables. Ensures that tools are well maintained and kept in safe/reliable condition.

Carries out trouble-shooting of pumps, compressors and diesel engines and provides support to subordinates on maintenance activities.

Ensures that all fabrication works are carried out as per the drawing supplied and engineering standards.

Obtains safety equipment for personnel, arranges for stand-by services as required and ensures that all worliforce strictly adhere to ADMA -OPCO safety regulations.

Signs work permits for the work to be performed by subordinates/contractors.

Other Related Duties:- Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor such as: Completing time sheets and job reports sheets, preparing leave programme and initiating assessments of subordinates ... etc.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:-

Completion of technical secondary education certificate followed by 2 years formal training leading to a diploma in mechanical trades.

5 years experience in industrial mechanical and utilities facilities maintenance in hydro carbon or petrochemical plant out of which, at least, 2 years should be at Foreman's level.

Good knowledge of English and Arabic languages.

Possession of UAE valid driving licence is an advantage.
