Job Purpose:
Under direction leads maintenance planning by developing quality work plans for major maintenance activities, using extensive maintenance experience, detailed knowledge of complex process plant and equipment and by applying best practices, modern planning techniques, man management skills and logical thinking.
Maintenance and updating of CMMS system including reporting and work order data analysis.
Principal Accountabilities
- Overall responsibility for upkeep and updating of CMMS system.
- Continuous support and training of Oracle CMMS users.
- Rectifies incorrect entries after consulting job requestor and relevant equipment Maintenance Engineer.
- Generates periodic management reports with work order trends, backlog details, overdue work, costs and ad-hock reports
- Performs financial closing of work orders at the end of month.
- Maintains shutdown work lists, develops detail plans and ensures spares resources availability for all jobs which cannot be performed during normal plant operation and ensures their execution during opportunities or shutdowns
- Function of a Shutdown Coordinator which includes: - planning of shutdown activities and schedule preparation with inputs from all disciplines, - development of contracting strategy, scope of work preparation, cost estimation and ensuring that contracts for the shutdown work are prepared in advance, - identification of shutdown materials and initiation of procurement actions, - coordination of shutdown execution and monitoring progress
- Participates in daily planning meetings with Operations department
- Contributes to EPCL’s profitability by striving to improve the productivity of Maintenance, excellence of it’s work output, thereby reducing maintenance costs and optimizing process plant reliability.
- Perform duties of other engineers during their absence annual leave. Compiles and reviews maintenance procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- A degree in an appropriate engineering discipline.
- A nationally recognized certificate, diploma, together with a formal education certificates in the English language.
- A minimum of 10 years experience as a Maintenance Supervisor, Planning Engineer, or Maintenance Engineer in a hydrocarbon Production and Processing facility.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of modern planning and scheduling techniques.
- Must have a good basic understanding of refining operations and processes.
- Must be able to analyze maintenance tasks, develop task-planning networks, and determine network critical paths.
- Must be able to competently estimate task resource requirements.
- Must be an expert user of computer aided planning and scheduling software, MAXIMO CMMS system and in the use of computer driven business application programs.
- Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and engineering or equipment data sheets.
- Must be able to record, analyze and interpret maintenance cost and resource statistics.
- Must have a thorough understanding of refining cost accounting & business processes.
- Must be thoroughly familiar with refining environment safe working procedures.
- Must be able to promote and manage harmonious and productive relationships with both peers and interface personnel in other departments.
- Must be proficient and fluent in both written and spoken English.
- Must be able to direct and manage the activities of a Maintenance Planning, train, guide and supervise assigned personnel.
- Must be a self-starter and pro-active rather than re-active in performing work plans
