Basic Function:

• Carries out the routine and non-routine analysis of oil, gas water and deposit samples by applying the relevant standard procedures, employing well maintained laboratory equipment in order to ensure the quality of oil, gas and water are within the required specification. 

• Prepares the required data and performs the set calculations of "Lean Gas Recycling".  Carries out chemical injection surveys in all systems.  

• Enters data in the computer and issues relevant reports.

Work Performed:

• Carries out routine and non-routine sampling/analysis and monitoring programs related to oil, gas, water injection and lube oil in accordance with CIMS procedures.

• Follow-up outside laboratory work carried out by Contractors.

• Review new laboratory techniques and methods.

• Prepares and follow up, for operations, the stocks of production chemicals required for chemical treatment applications (oil processing, water systems, pigging etc.).

• Coordinates the internal corrosion monitoring programs of oil and water injection systems.  Carries out the corrosion coupon analysis.

• Stores, maintains, handles, maintain records and follow up Company’s pressurized sample cylinders, including the cylinders of the outside contractors for the concerned divisions in Company.

• Assists in the investigation of related process problems as directed by Corrosion Engineer

• Feeds data into the Computer and prepares the weekly report, monthly desalting/dehydration report, the Quality/Corrosion Control (QCC) reports and Lean Gas Recycle report.

• Prepares laboratory material requisitions, updating consumable and equipment inventories.

• Carries out the quality control checks of production chemicals to ensure compliance with specifications.

• Understand the Company Health, Safety and Environmental Policy, and how it relates to his job. Performs his work in a safe and efficient manner, and is familiar with relevant safe working procedures and practices that relate to his job.

Minimum Requirements:

• Completion of Secondary education (12 years) followed by 3 years full time training leading to a Diploma in chemistry/ laboratory analysis.

• 2 years experience in oil production laboratory.

*Preference given to Localy Avaliable Candidates in the United Arab Emirates and who can attend the campaing.
