Job Details

Job Purpose:

Develops an integrated long-term futuristic view of reservoir scenarios & options for the fields. Provides support to Reservoir Engineering Team of Field Development Division in determining surface facilities and projects input assumptions, for reservoir simulation runs. Also conducts detailed techno-economical analysis of reservoir development scenarios & options. Prepares Drilling Bar-charts for monthly issue inside the company and to Shareholders, which drives the activity of our drilling fleet operations. Provides Budget and Business Plan inputs for drilling activity. Extends subsurface support to projects, throughout the VAP process, by actively networking with Field Development Divisions.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Defines the assumptions and case structures for reservoir simulation of development scenarios & options, in line with facilities constraints and company guidelines.
  • Promotes integration of subsUrface and surface to ensure that all facilities (pipelines, towers and top-side) impacts of subsurface options are identified and evaluated with Pre-Projects team and Field Development Planning.
  • Evaluates development scenarios using technical and economical approaches.
  • Presents result of techno-economic analysis to management and shareholders, for effective decision making.
  • Prepares outline SOR (Statement of Requirements), after finishing conceptual studies, to move projects into the Assess Stage of the Value Assurance Process.
  • Prepares drilling and subsurface technical inputs to the Budget and Business Plan.
  • Actively networks with various Divisions including: Field Developments, Asset Units, Drilling, Projects (Brownfield and Major Projects) and Discipline Engineering to schedule all approved development drilling and work-over requirements.
  • Runs monthly Drilling & Work-over Bar Chart co-ordination meeting, to establish commitments and to avoid any Rig I Production operational clash. Also, prepares a monthly Drilling Bar-chart for issue by General Manager to Shareholders and internally within the company.­
  • Tracks impact of monthly Drilling Bar-chart changes on cost compared to Budget.
  • Participates in the optimization of planned drilling activity, including techno-economic analysis of work-over and proposed infill (new) wells.
  • Develops a database for subsurface, to arrive at capital cost inputs to Business Planning.
  • Processes, analyses and evaluates the data received from reservoir simulation team in support of pre-projects and projects.
  • Participates, as one of the members in Task Forces, to optimize drilling rigs utilization, well design and drilling/operations activity.
  • Performs other tasks as allocated by Team Leader.

 

Minimum Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Petroleum Engineering / Reservoir Engineering / Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 8 years post qualification versatile experience with a sound knowledge of petroleum reservoirs, field development planning, and integration of subsurface & surface. Exposure to techno-economical evaluation is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with application of MS Office programs.
  • Analytical Planning Skill
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
