• Directs plans and controls the activities of the assigned personnel involved in maintenance/repairs work of instrumentation systems including setting up work schedules, allocating priorities, assigning tasks and checking completed work.
• Responds to maintenance requests of instrumentation/control systems and associated equipment and prepares work schedules. Participates in carrying out more complex/urgent work assignments and carries out modifications when necessary.
• Directs the implementation of work schedule for routine maintenance, testing of valves. Assists Supervisor in maintaining related equipment on Super complex in good working condition including routine testing, calibration, repairs and breakdown maintenance.
• Directs the preparation of instrument and control equipment for maintenance and submits reports on plant/equipment breakdown and associated preventative maintenance to Supervisor. Investigates plant anomalies and recommends necessary proposals of remedial actions. Coordinates with assigned personnel during emergency breakdown works and major shutdowns.
• Inspects new control and instrumentation installations during the construction phase and reports any defects to Supervisor. Provides advice to installation Engineers on optimal schemes for instruments, cable runs. Coordinates with concerned personnel pre-commissioning/ commissioning activities and highlights any defects.
• Initiates requisitions for stores materials and ensures sufficient spares are available on the complex or field. Ensures that maintenance records, fault reports, logbooks, are kept up-to-date. Recommends to Supervisor on the suitability of new materials. Ensures all essential spares are reserved ordered and advises Supervisor on any shortages.
• Ensures safety equipment and systems are maintained in efficient operating conditions. Ensures subordinates and contractors adhere to Company’s safety policy/procedures, standards and regulations. Ensures appropriate safety training of assigned personnel. Conducts group safety meetings for subordinates. Ensures proper housekeeping and safe practices.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor such as: Assisting the supervisor in identifying the training requirements for subordinates, participating in training subordinates and developees when required, maintaining/updating records and drawings, preparing necessary reports.

• Secondary technical education certificate followed by 3 years formal training leading to diploma in the repair of instrumentation and control systems.
• 5 - 6 years’ experience in installation, maintenance/overhaul of various types of instruments in oil production companies of which at least 3 years in a Senior Technician/Instrument foreman Level.
• Good knowledge of English.
