JOB PURPOSE:
Plans, supervises, directs and controls the operation and maintenance activities of Oil & Gas Plants, accommodation & work shop areas with associated utilities and maintenance of WHTs in line with the Maintenance Policy Strategy. Maintenance activities include the repair, installation and commissioning of a wide range to instrumentation, telecommunications, Computer & PLC based control Systems.
Supervises major overhaul works and the installation of new control systems / instrumentation as carried out either by the asset manpower teams or contractors.Ensures availability of suitable spares and consumable items.Ensures safe and efficient operation whilst meeting the complexes power requirements and the Company’s Oil & Gas and Water Injection targets in terms of quality and quantity.
Review of new project documents such as FEED & Control Philosophy, detailed engineering, Factory & Site Acceptance, performance testing & final acceptance.

Job Specific Accountabilities
- Supervises, directs and controls team personnel assigned to plant operation, instrument, control, computers and electronics. Performs supervisory functions as determined by the management.
- Plans, directs and controls the operations and maintenance of Oil & Gas Plants, accommodation & work shop areas with associated utilities and maintenance of WHTs in line with ADNOC OFFSHORE maintenance policy, to ensure safe and efficient operations and achieving injection targets and ensure electrical power, air and quality requirements are met.
- Reviews / studies performance of the accommodation, workshop and production plants, highlights problem areas / short comings and recommends to supervisor appropriate corrective measures to enhance / promote performance, including modification work etc.
- Evaluates technically, engineering packages / proposals initiated by Facilities Engineering Division’s and/or Asset Field Operations Support Divisions engineers including : surveying the field/plant highlighting discrepancies / anomalies and recommending appropriate alternatives supported with necessary engineering drawing.
- Monitors and evaluates the reliability of rotating machinery and develops performance measurement tools. Ensures appropriate implementation of the developed performance measurement tools.
- Ensures appropriate implementation of the developed OPERGUID procedures for plant preparation and maintenance and makes sure of regular review and update of procedures for optimization and safe operations.
- Maintains plant and equipment in a fit-for purpose condition through implementation of maintenance schedules and maintenance procedures. Prepares long and short term plans of preventive maintenance work for all Electronics / Telecommunication / Control System including telemetry, fire and gas system and ICSS instrumentation equipment on the Super Complex. Ensures all remedial actions for NMI / Internal, external and shareholders audits / under his responsibility are prioritized and cleared in a reasonable time.
- Directs, supervises and follows up preventive / breakdown maintenance work and commissioning of instrument and electronics equipment facilities on the Super Complex including rotating machinery, turbines, pumps, accommodation platforms, safety systems, Jet A-1 refuelling system, valves and vesselsto ensure safe / smooth / efficient running / operations and to minimize failure / breakdown / disruption. Coordinates with all Team’s maintenance work, determines priorities, ensures efficient implementation and coordination of maintenance programs and takes necessary actions in case of deviations. Ensures availability of spare parts, reviews inventories to maintain approximate stock level, initiates / approves (CPR’s, M/R’s and CR’s for materials and labour.
- Supervises maintenance / repair work carried out by contractors on the Super Complex to ensure compliance with specifications, code of practices and scope of work determined, recommends acceptance of completed. Ensures that implementation of all modification, maintenance works are carried out on the Production plant areas in adherence to the Company’s Standards and approved specifications.
- Supervises and personally, participates when necessary, in recommissioning in liaison with Lead Inspection Engineer certifies satisfactory completion of work.
- Reviews and approves recommendations on appropriate technical actions to secure appropriate running of equipment and plants. Analyses plants performance and maintenance costs statistics provided by Operations Integrity Unit, and recommends improvement of Maintenance Strategies and spare parts stock utilization. Approves subordinates proposals of modifications required and methods of improvements.
- Participates in maintenance planning by reviewing / reporting anticipated future requirements of overhauls, maintenance, repairs and spare parts, changing frequency of inspection according to work requirements and updating work identification system of routing maintenance and regular checks to rectify defects.
- Ensures efficient monitoring / checking of plant and equipment performance, inspects / investigates abnormalities and recommends appropriate actions and participates in commissioning of new installations in conjunction with the relevant Project Team Leaders. Coordinates with Operations Integrity Unit the initiation and preparation of major work packages.
- Ensures proper adherence and implementation of the HSE program, site waste management system and subordinates adherence to established company’s procedures, regulations and standards. Works to agreed action plans and group objectives. Ensure the team mate to raise annotation ideas for practical applications.
- Wellhead Tower routine & corrective maintenance to ensure uninterrupted production to meet Production KPI.
- Ensure new wellhead tower hook-ups for newly added slots / strings are implemented for assisting production operations.

- Plan and supervise the activities of the personnel and resources of the team to achieve the Department objectives in an efficient and cost-conscious manner while ensuring implementation of approved operational plans for the Section in line with Department objectives.
- Develop the knowledge, competencies and innovative spirit in the team and support the establishment of Personal Development Plans (PDP’s), Succession Planning and Talent pipeline within the team in coordination with the Human Capability Group to continuously develop employees with emphasis on UAE Nationals to meet Emiratization targets.

- Compile and provide input for preparation of the Department budgets and regularly monitor expenditure against approved the team budget levels.
- Investigate, highlight and reconcile any significant variances to ensure effective performance and cost control.

- Lead the implementation of approved team policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures and internal controls in order to support execution of the Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.
Performance Management
- Implement the Company Performance Management System for individuals within the team in accordance with Company approved guidelines and continuously monitor the achievement of the Team KPIs related to the approved Annual Performance Management Contract and the Balanced Score Card.

- Review, develop and recommend the appropriate organisation structure for theTeam that will best utilise human capital while proactively incorporating sustainability into the on-going work practices to meet the business objectives.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Encourage innovation, enhance employee motivation and support initiatives for implementation of Change Management to continuously improve operations and services.
- Propose improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the team.

- Support the institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures, systems & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines across the team in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
- Ensure adequate HSE training and induction for all team employees to meet HSE standards.
Management Reports
- Prepare all the MIS and progress reports to provide accurate and timely reports and necessary information to Company Management to effectively manage the business.
5. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal
- Daily contacts with Engineers, Supervisors and Team Leaders on the Super Complex for general coordination of operation, production and maintenance activities.
- Regular contacts with other Supervisors, Section Leaders and Team Leaders regarding the routine and major maintenance works.
- Regular contacts with Planning Engineer to coordinate MAXIMO issues proposed major schemes, manpower etc.
External
- Regular contact with Onshore based TL’s and Engineers for liaison and exchange of operation, maintenance and technical information
- Frequent contacts with Contractor’s personnel / engineers for exchange of information, fulfilment of terms of contacts and for familiarization of new equipment and to ensure compliance with HSE Protocol.
- Liaise with Project operation support team in getting new schemes/system as per established standards and practices of existing installations on site.
- Works according to established company procedures and professional standards. Exercises latitude in directing the work of the Section by determining work methods from several existing alternatives.
6. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor Degree in control, electronic or instrumentation engineering or equivalent.
Minimum Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 8 years experience in operation and / or maintenance of offshore oil / gas production facilities and three years should have been in an engineer / supervisory capacity.
Professional Certifications
- Certificate in Management adds value.
