Job Details

JOB PURPOSE

Provides Instrument Engineering expertise with experience based knowledge and assistance to Asset Unit ensuring that Asset interest and expectations are met at all stages of the projects.  Provides Instrument Engineering expertise with experience based knowledge to Asset Operations and Maintenance Teams to ensure continuous, safe and efficient operation of the plants during operation phase of the projects.

 

4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Job Specific Accountabilities

Plant Operations

  • Supervise Instrument Engineering Input to the development of Operation, Maintenance and Integrity Philosophies (OMI) of the projects.
  • Reviews / comments and approves new projects design / construction packages prepared by Project Divisions and coordinates and compiles comments of other discipline engineers in Production Business Unit for Electrical lead packages to ensure meeting operational objectives.
  • Provide technical expertise in HAZOP / HAZID / SAFOP studies for electrical network and Electrical & Instrument System audit.
  • Provide day to day Instrument Engineering support and advice to the maintenance teams.
  • Acts as technical authority / custodian for the entire Instruments Installations / equipment and systems, Standardisation and pre-qualification of OEM / equipment manufactures.
  • Analyse Instrument Equipment history data in terms of failure Analysis and spare parts consumption and inject the experience to selection of equipment’s during project execution.
  • Take the lead in condition monitoring report analysis to identify potential equipment failure and improvement opportunities.
  • Optimise the delivery of Instrument Engineering and work packs for the asset.
  • Assist in preparing Start up and commissioning procedures for Instrument systems.
  • Assist in formulating in house Engineering development and training program based onlesson learnt or site installation problems or difficulties.
  • Review the Instrument equipment data of all new plants to ensure conformity with established standard and schedule of maintenance / inspection including creation of model work orders for certification of equipment and maintenance.
  • Provides technical supports for developing Instrument equipment maintenance data base on CMMS.
  • Training and development of Nationals, Emiratisation Plan which involves shadowing or on the job training for certain designated positions.
  • Able to Identify critical system Alarms and process Alarms (CAMS) from DCS HMI and packages HMI.
  • Ability to distribute works among Instrumentation & Control Technicians.
  • Maintain efficient records on operations and activities; coordinate and prepare reportsRespond to emergency call-outs.

  • Provide comprehensive and detailed e-logbook handovers at the end of each shift and crew change.
  • Actively participate in safety briefings and toolbox talks.
  • Communicate lessons learnt across shifts.
  • Perform the role of performing authority, isolating authority in the frame work of the integrated safe system of work (ISSOW).
  • Maintain personal competency in alignment with the instrument technician CMAS competency profile.
  • Support and develop peers across the multi discipline operations team.
  • Agree work schedule and priorities with the ADNOC supervisor and planner.
  • Ensure spare parts and materials are available for planned maintenance activities
  • Manage platform based critical spares, ensuring the correct spares holding and adequate storage.
  • Ensure Maximo work requests are sufficiently detailed, clearly defining the scope of work or nature of problem along with basic planning information.
  • Undertake system modifications as per approved work packs and authorised e-MOC.
  • Execute daily work schedules in a safe, efficient and diligent manner in accordance with approved platform procedures and routines, ETP’s and industry standards.
  • Assign the daily works to Senior Technician I-C and Technician I-C.
  • Ensure Job plans and PMR’s are accurate and sufficiently detailed.
  • Deliver full compliance with ADNOC rules of safety and the PSVM site safety standard.
  • Prepare WCC’s / Level 2 risk assessments and ICC’s in accordance with the control of work standard.
  • Deliver on a personal auditing commitment. Participating in SOC’s, BOSS and PTW/ICC audits.
  • Agree to work in offshore environment (Rotation)
  • Learn and apply new information or new skills.
  • Work independently in the absence of supervision
  • Respond to emergency call-outs.

Training

  • Provide on-the-job Training to meet Competency Based Training programs for UAE Nationalization.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the identification of areas and opportunities for continuous improvement in the operating procedures and functional processes.

Health, Safety , Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
  • Participate in Emergency Response duties as a team member.

Housekeeping

  • Maintain the work environment clean and tidy before, during operations, in line with established standards of Hygiene and Housekeeping.

Reports

  • Provide inputs to prepare Section progress reports for Company Management.
  • Prepare various Key Performance Indicator (KPI) checklists for management.

 

5. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal

  • Daily contacts with Engineers, Supervisors and Team Leaders on the Super Complex for general coordination of operation, production and maintenance activities.
  • Regular contacts with other Supervisors, Section Leaders and Team Leaders regarding the routine and major maintenance works.
  • Regular contacts with Planning Engineer to coordinate MAXIMO issues proposed major schemes, manpower etc.

External

  • Regular contact with Onshore based TL’s and Engineers for liaison and exchange of operation, maintenance and technical information
  • Frequent contacts with Contractor’s personnel / engineers for exchange of information, fulfilment of terms of contacts and for familiarization of new equipment and to ensure compliance with HSE Protocol.
  • Liaise with Project operation support team in getting new schemes/system as per established standards and practices of existing installations on site.
  • Works according to established company procedures and professional standards. Exercises latitude in directing the work of the Section by determining work methods from several existing alternatives.

 

6. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor/Diploma degree in Electronics / Instrument Engineeringor equivalent having minimum 5 years of work exposure.

Minimum Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

  • minimum5-8 years of work exposure.
