Staff Training and Qualification
• Set management expectations and communicate with department to ensure high level of safety, operability, availability and reliability of plant Structures, Systems and Components
• Monitor and coach to improve performance
• Evaluate performance of individual staff to develop necessary training
• Ensure training programs provide necessary technical knowledge and skills
• Provide training feedback on program effectiveness with evaluation of operator performance
Work Control
Ensure the following job tasks are performed timely and with quality to achieve the highest level of safety and reliability:
• Oversees operational aspects of the Company work management process.
• Ensures a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) attends the Notification Screening Team meeting as the Operations representative and to the weekly T-process meetings and critiques
• Assigns qualified personnel to support Fix it Now Team activities.
• Ensures work notifications are promptly reviewed by an SRO for safety, OPERABILITY, and reportability concerns.
• Ensures that OPERABILITY of plant equipment is promptly restored following completion of work and testing.
• Commits resources to complete scheduled work activities.
• Provides operational focus to ensure that the right work is performed at the right time per the work prioritization process.
• Ensures that Shift Operations assumes responsibilities of the Work Control Center when Work Control personnel are not available.
• Assigns SROs as Work Execution Coordinators to support the Execution Phase of the Site work management process.
• Review procedures developed by other departments and provide comments
• Understands the characteristics of operations
• Operate Unit 1&2 Tagout Permit Order and maintain keys
• Support the development of Start-up field requests
• Perform system walk down and check the status of plant operation (ensuring plant configuration control procedures are implemented during release of plant and return to service)
• Identify areas for improvement during commissioning phase
• Support important commissioning tests (CHT/HFT)
• Ensuring effective support of operations teams in the fulfilment of their obligations to the Work Management processes
• Prepare for WANO pre-start up peer reviews
• Prepare WM aspects unit 1&2 refuelling outage
Stakeholder Engagement
• Facilitate communication both internally and externally in order to build and nurture mutually beneficial working relationships with Company Shareholders Corporate/Site staff
Health Safety Environment & Security (HSES)
Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, by delivery of the HSE Management Program to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality service and a responsible environmental attitude.
Follow all relevant Security policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure security compliance in all aspects of work, by applying them on individuals and information assets.
18 months active SRO Licensed / Certified experience.
Senior Reactor Operator Certification
Total of 7 years of experience
4 years of nuclear power plant experience
1 year in a supervisory / managerial role
0.5 year of on-site experience
1 refueling outage as Shift Supervisor or STA
0.5 years of Work Control Center duties.
PWR / OPR / APR MCR operations experience.
18 months active SRO Licensed / Certified experience
