Fund Investment Manager

Summary of the Role
The Fund Investment Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing investment portfolios on behalf of clients and investors. Responsibilities include making strategic investment decisions while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain and exemplify a cohesive oversight program for all Investment Management delegates.
- Ensure compliance with fund objectives and policies through consistent communication with investment managers.
- Support the identification, assessment, and management of Investment Management risks in line with applicable regulatory frameworks.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as Operations, Compliance, Relationship Management, Operational Risk, and Fund Risk to assess delegate risks.
- Assist in client onboarding processes, including asset eligibility assessments, regulatory interpretations, risk disclosures in fund documents, holdings data preparation, and setting up monitoring limits.
- Oversee the generation and delivery of investment risk reports, managing breach escalations and stakeholder communications.
- Develop and execute investment strategies and portfolio management plans aligned with fund objectives.
- Conduct in-depth research and market analysis to identify investment trends and opportunities across asset classes.
- Manage investment portfolios and ensure effective risk management practices are implemented.
- Work with sales and marketing teams to establish and execute fund distribution strategies.
- Collaborate with the Promotions Manager to build and maintain relationships with financial advisors, institutional investors, and distribution partners.
- Ensure all investment activities align with Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) regulations, industry best practices, and internal compliance policies.
- Prepare documentation for regulatory reporting and audits.
- Establish performance benchmarks and monitor investment strategy success.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports on fund performance, investment activities, and market trends for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with clients and advisors regarding performance updates and market insights.
- Conduct client meetings and presentations on investment strategy and results.
- Identify and mitigate investment risks in accordance with established frameworks and risk tolerance thresholds.
- Remain up to date with market developments, economic indicators, and regulatory changes affecting fund performance.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Risk Management, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Advanced degree or professional certification preferred.
Experience & Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial analysis, fund distribution, investment management, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and financial systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
Regulatory Qualifications – SCA Requirements (CISI)
- To obtain approval from the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) as a Fund Investment Manager, the following qualifications are mandatory through the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI):
