Job purpose & Scope:

• Technical authority on Company Operational Fire Fighting strategy & tactics.
• Functionally Support and coordinate all ADNOC OFFSHORE Fire & Emergency Response activities. These include training and development & operational needs of the site Fire Teams, Support the upkeep and maintenance of ADNOC OFFSHORE Corporate Response Center/ Emergency Support Team, facilitate and execute ER drills and exercises.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Support competency and development of ADNOC OFFSHORE Firefighting Team including:

1. Support competency & development of each fire team member in line with the Scheme of services
2. Support the progression and promotion of fire team are per Scheme of Services

• Ensure conformity with baseline standard for all Fire Organization in ADNOC OFFSHORE including Fire station minimum requirement, Fire Truck & Fire Equipment specifications.
• Designing and approving of the Operational Fire Fighting strategy & tactics such as:

1. Standard Operating Procedures for fire team
2. Fire Station Manuals
3. Fire Engine/Truck Specifications
4. Site specific Pre-fire plan
5. Identification of Staging areas
6. All other fire team operational matters

•  Conduct annual audits on all Fire Team to ensure readiness which include:

1. Personnel Competency
2. Fire Station upkeep
3. Fire Engine & equipment

• To provide operational input to HSE design engineers on Fire Protection system such as:

1. Advise on operability of fire systems, including fire detection and protection, water deluge and foam systems
2. Address Fire Systems issues
3. Maintain a good understanding of International Fire Codes and specifications
4. Advise on commissioning & testing of Fire Protection System

• Develops, in consultation with the sites, emergency response drills and exercise programs.
• Determine objective, Scenario selection and prepare report & coordinate follow up actions for continuous improvement
• Represents ADNOC OFFSHORE regarding firefighting issues within the OPCOs and other related forums.

Organizational Relationships (Work Contacts):

• Regular contacts with site Fire Fighting Teams
• Frequent contact with ADNOC group HSE Team Members.

Independence of Operations and Decision-making Authority:

• Provides functional guidance to Fire Team
• Technical Authority Operational Fire Fighting strategy & tactics

Physical Effort:

• Approx. 85% of work time in HQ.
• Balance of time spent on sites.

Work Environment:

Normal air-conditioned environment.

Offshore work environment in process platforms, islands and WHPTs

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Fire, Chemical or Process Engineering with relevant accredited certifications in Emergency Response & Crisis Support is preferred.
• Should have attended certified course/training related to Firefighting & Prevention, Emergency/Crisis, Oil Spill Response, Hazardous Material Response, etc.
• Should have held senior supervisory position in Fire & Emergency Response Services
• Should have experience in an Oil & Gas (Exploration & Production), Chemical process, or similar industry and 10 years in fire and emergency response.
• Broad experience of a range of fire engineering applications and be able to demonstrate understanding across these areas.
• Proven knowledge and ability to interpret fire engineering related legislation, International Standards & Code of Practices (e.g. NFPA, ICS), with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good Knowledge and understanding of the Incident Command System (ICS) disaster recovery planning techniques, Crisis Support & Business Continuity.
