PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Purpose:
- Leads and develops the Fire & Rescue Team to ensure readiness to respond immediately to Fire, Hydrocarbon and Toxic Gas Release, Rescue and Fire Loss Control related situations Pan Company Sites.
- Prevents and minimises loss of life and property damage as a result of Fire, Gas Release Incidents and Rescue situations. Studies, monitors, inspects and advises Compay and Group Compnay Management on all matters related to Fire Sytems Integrity Management including: Emergency Response, Training, Protection, ensuring adherence to all Codes and Standards, Prevention, Equipment and Systems.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Responds 24 hours per day to all Emergency Incidents involving control of Fire, Oil I Gas Release, Rescue or other pertinent Incidents, supervises all activities at Incident Sites, Investigates all related Incidents and prepares reports including Findings and Recommendations.
- Commands and controls the activities assigned to Emergency Response Teams, including Fire & Rescue, HSE & Medical, at Incident Scene and advises the Incident Command Centre of the Alert Status throughout any Incident.
- Controls and directs the performance of the Fire & Rescue Service, to ensure requirements and plans are implemented effectively to achieve high performance standards in all matters related to HSE Regulations and the HSE Management System.
- Ensures Site Airport Fire & Rescue Services are at all times compatible with sizes, types and frequency of aircraft in accordance with the regulatory requirements for Aviation Firefighting.
- Ensures all aspects of Emergency Preparedness are in place and are appropriate for the identified Risks, including the development & use of Company I Group Company Pre-fire Plans and simulated Emergency Incident Exercise Programmes, minimising the Life Safety Risk and enhancing Loss Prevention & Asset Protection protocols.
- Directs and monitors all testing and maintenance to comply with Fire Systems Integrity and Certification requirements, including Fire Reticulation Systems, Life Support Equipment, Marine Fire Fighting Vessels, Fire Detection, and Passive Protection Systems, minimising future Asset Loss potential.
- Advises on requirements, provides Specialist Equipment and Manpower for Hot Work Standby, Man Entry activities, Hazardous Tasks and associated procedures.
- Initiates, Reviews and Develops departmental Emergency Procedures, Maintenance Programmes, Technical Instructions and Training Manuals.
- Formulates and reviews Chemical Disposal Methods and Procedures, and directs the safe disposal of Hazardous Chemical Substances involved in Emergency Incidents.
- Prepares, Implements & Directs Professional Development & Integrated Competency Assesment Programs for all Fire & Rescue Service personnel, including UAE National Junior Fire Fighters, Direct Hire Staff, Contract and Auxilliary Fire Fighters.
- Ensures implementation of Specialist Fire Fighting, Fire Prevention and Life Support training for Site and Offshore personnel.
- Carries out regular Audits, Inspections of Compnay and Group Compnay facilities to ensurecompliance with International and Company Fire Codes and Standards. Initiates and recommends Engineering Modifications of facilities to meet new Fire Prevention requirements.
- Studies and advises on Company and Group Company Engineering Project packages. Carries out
projects Acceptance Testing and Inspection for Fire Systems, Installations, Structures and
ensures implementation of Maintenance Programmes assuring Fire Service Integrity
Management requirements.
- Reviews and makes appropriate comments for both Company and Group Company on QRA's, Shareholders Audits and Insurance Survey studies.
- Guides, directs and supervises subordinates to ensure they work to their best potential and contribute effectively as a team. Works in line with HSE Policy and ensure awareness and compliance of HSE rules and regulations by subordinates.
Communications & Organisational Relationships:
- Daily contacts with Site Management/Team Leaders and frequent contact with Group Compnay Operations Management and HSE Team for day-to-day operational matters.
- Frequent contacts with Human Resouces, Commercial, Finance and Engineering desciplines for recruitment, purchasing, budget control and project work.
- Frequent contacts with Contractor Management/Engineers regarding project work.
- Contacts with Group Companies and Shareholders regarding training and knowledge sharing.
- Works according to Company's established policy, procedures and professional technical standards.

Minimum Requirements [Knowledge Skills & Experience]:
- Bachelor degree in Science or in Engineering discipline.
- 10 - 12 years experience involved in fire fighting I protection and use of fire and life support equipment within oil industry, five of which must have been in a senior position. Extensive knowledge of HSE Regulations and HSE MS.
- Possession of UAE Valid driving license is essential.
- Very good knowledge of English language
Preference given to Applicants with Offshore work Experience and who can join immediately
