As an Environmental Safety Technician you will be part of a Radiological Protection Team responsible for all aspects of Radiological Protection on site and off-site. 

You should be able to demonstrate the following qualities:

Principal Accountabilities Radiological Safety is the main priority. We will be looking for you to display: - 

- A nuclear safety focus in all activities and responsibilities undertaken. 
- A willingness to take an active role to ensure that all activities support safe and reliable operation of the plant and maintain full compliance within agreed safety and environmental standards and expectations. 
- An approach that ensures that all activities are carried out with full regard to Site Licence requirements, statutory regulations, Company and Location directives, procedures and Safety Rules. 
- The ability to work flexibly to ensure maximum contribution towards achieving business need. 
- A willingness in undertaking and supporting training and development activities (including participating in the appraisal process) to extend skills and abilities of self and others. 
- An active role in all team activities to ensure full compliance with agreed safety and environmental standards & expectations. 
- The ability to carry out radiological and environmental related tasks as required by the appropriate legislation, Safety Rules and local procedures. 
- The flexibility to carry out work in other areas of the environmental safety team after relevant task training.

Job requirements

As a minimum, you will be educated to GCSE/National Qualification standards (or equivalent). Candidates with these qualifications that include “c” and above grade passes in English and Mathematics will have an advantage 

A City & Guilds qualification in Radiation Safety Practice and Health Physics Monitoring experience from operating Nuclear Power Stations will be an advantage also. 

Please note that working may involve a staggered day pattern working Mon - Sun, including extended days at times to support operational requirements.
