Thinking beyond the rigid confines of repetitive design you will provide innovative solutions to the nuclear industry. You will use the latest tools in the challenging fields of decommissioning and for the provision of associated new facilities. Depending on experience, your role will involve:
Providing key design authority support to assure the safety and quality of design solutions.
Leading design teams in decommissioning and the provision of new facilities.
Working closely with external contractors, and supervising and delivering core design activities utilising internal staff.
Interfacing with the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, regulators, other professional engineering disciplines, nuclear operators and the external supply chain.
Addressing issues beyond normal UK engineering practices by employing innovative new technologies and solutions to unique challenges in a stringently regulated environment across a broad spectrum of Electrical, Control and Instrument skill areas, in a stringently regulated environment.
We are also seeking Safety Instrumented Systems Engineers who have knowledge of functional safety management principles and practical application of International standards such as IEC 61508/IEC 61511/IEC 61513.
Essential Skills:
Chartered Engineer or approaching chartered status. Recent graduates working towards Chartered Engineer status will also be considered.
Ideally with an electrical, control or instrument engineering background gained in nuclear, petrochemical, utilities or similar industry.
Innovative and lateral thinker.
