PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Purpose:
- Supervises the implementation of the electrical works related to all the Construction Packages in co-ordination with the other discipline Construction Engineers within the GSPT, Operations and Maintenance Teams. This includes, among other fields, electrical power generation, power distribution, switchgear (up to 11 KV), transformer, motor air conditioning (A/C), cathodic protection (CP), Cable networks and lighting protection, earthing and bonding systems..
Principal Accountabilities:
- Reviews the approval packages, Electrical Scope of Works (SOW) for possible design errors, constructability and non-compliance with the relevant codes. Review and comment on the HSE Plan and QC Plan submitted by the contractor. Attends Pre-Tender site visits to explain Electrical work details to bidders.
- Assists in contractor's mobilization i.e. ensures that all new comers attend the safety related courses, participate in kick-off meetings. Assists contractors to construct their temporary yard provided by the proper utilities.
- Verifies the received Electrical material specifications, supervises the loop of the electrical and function check the system components.
- Provides daily supervision on the contractor's Electrical works to ensure that the approved SOW is being implemented in accordance with the approved method statements, HSE procedures, safely execution of work in accordance to Company HSE and relevant standards within the approved budget and the planned construction duration.
- Co-ordinates with Area Authorities to plan ahead for the electrical works, applies for the relevant Work Permits and provides clarifications if needed. Attends to all electrical site queries, issues related Site Instructions and participates in clearing Electrical engineering queries.
- Monitors site electrical works percentage completion and approves invoice payment installment accordingly. Continuously reviews the contractors, work schedule, S curve, and manpower histogram related to electrical works. Discusses electrical modifications with the contractor and approve new revisions if needed.
- Attends weekly, bi-weekly and monthly progress meetings with the contractor to monitor Electrical works progress to achieve the required work quality and clear the contractor's Electrical technical problems and clarifications.
- Reviews I implements the pre-commissioning procedures and electrical loop checks, liaises with the operations authorities to tie-in, and match, the new Electrical systems to the operational ones.
- Liaises with the operations authorities and the different vendor representatives to prepare the commissioning procedures, contributes in Risk Assessments, Implements these procedures with minimum operations disturbances, and tunes the new systems to the operational requirements. Erupted Electrical problems are jointly cleared with the designer, the vendor and the contractor.
- Applies Company Work Handover Procedure in accordance with the approved guidelines.
- Follows up on electrical punch list items clearance, checks and approves Electrical As-built drawings. Ensures that adequate data are handed over to the Area Authority for further day to day operation of the system e.g. O&M manuals, spare parts lists and CMMS requirements.
- Mobilizes electrical vendor representative and supervises the commissioning activities in coordination with the Area Authorities.
- Reviews Close-out Report, Lessons Learnt presentation, and issues Contractor Performance Evaluation Report.
- Prepares special studies and presentations as requested. Coach the Junior UAE Nationals
CAMS Graduates) and give training and guidance in Electrical discipline.
- Arranges for the witnessing and approval of the pre commissioning/commission checks to
ensure safe and smooth operation prior to handing over to the operating authorities, e.g.
Electrical loop checks, function checks, cable/winding/busbar insulation checks, arranges for group checks to prepare punch list items clear the punch list items with the contractor,
provides the necessary documents and test results to compile the ready for commissioning file.
- Guides, directs and supervises subordinates to ensure they work to their best potential and contribute effectively as a Team..
Communications & Organisational Relationships:
- Regular contacts with Process Operations Team, Field Maintenance Team, Engineering & Projects Team, Finance Team, Commercial Teams within Compnay
- Regular contacts with contractors' personnel up to Site Managers level to liaise on daily activities.
- Completed work is handed over to the Area Authority, subject to review by Team Leader.
- Works according to Company's established policies and professional/engineering standards.
- Takes initiative when studying and providing appropriate recommendations.

Minimum Requirements [Knowledge Skills & Experience]:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electri cal I Electronic Engineering or equivalent discipl ine.
- 5 - 6 Years of experience in Electrical construction works of which at least 3 years in live oil fields or petro-chemical plants.
- Very good command in English in both writing and verbal communications.
- Possession of a valid U.A.E driving license
Preference given to Applicants with Offshore work Experience and who can join immediately
