PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Job Purpose:

  • Provides Electrical & Instrument Engineering expertise with experience based knowledge and assistance to the Division ensuring that Asset interest and expectations are met at all stages of the projects. Ensures continuous, safe and efficient operation of the plants during operation phase of the projects.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Supervise Electrical & Instrument Engineering Input to the development of Operation, Maintenance and Integrity Philosophies (OMI) of the projects.
  • Reviews I comments and approves new projects design I construction packages andcoordinates and compiles comments of other discipline engineers in Projects & Engineering Business Unit for Electrical lead packages to ensure meeting operational objectives.
  • Provides technical expertise in HAZOP I HAZID I SAFOP studies for electrical network and Electrical & Instrument System audit.
  • Provides day to day Electrical & Instrument Engineering support and advice to the maintenance teams.
  • Acts as technical authority I custodian for the entire Electrical & Instruments Installations equipment and systems, Standardisation and pre-qualification of OEM I equipment manufactures.
  • Analyses Electrical & Instrument Equipment history data in terms of failure Analysis and spare parts consumption and injects the experience to selection of equipment's during project execution.
  • Takes the lead in condition monitoring report analysis to identify potential equipment failure and improvement opportunities.
  • Optimises the delivery of Electrical & Instrument Engineering and work packs for the asset.
  • Assists in preparing Start up and commissioning procedures for Electrical & Instrument systems.
  • Assist in formulating in house Engineering development and training program based on lesson learnt or site installation problems or difficulties.
  • Reviews the Electrical & Instrument equipment data of all new plants to ensure conformity with established standard and schedule of maintenance I inspection including creation of model work orders for certification of equipment and maintenance.
  • Provides technical supports for developing Electrical equipment maintenance data base on CMMS.
  • Training and development of Nationals, Emiratisation Plan which involves shadowing or on the job training for certain designated positions.
  • Guides, directs and supervises subordinates to ensure they work to their best potential and contribute effectively as a Team.

 

 

Communications & Organisational Relationships:

  • Frequent contracts with Discipline Engineering Division's personnel up to Snr. Engineer level for discussing necessary engineering packages and Purchasing I materials Departments up to Senior Officer's level regarding suitability and availability of control equipment/spares.
  • Daily contacts with Offshore Operation, Maintenance Services, Production Engineering and Maintenance Planning Engineers to coordinate I participate in development and maintenance of Instrument and Electrical equipment and systems.
  • Occasional contacts with suppliers related to the selection of control equipment and spares and to solve technical problems.
  • Works according to Company established procedures and professional engineering standards.
  • Exercises latitude when working on modifications I solving problems, reviewing packages and advising on specifications of equipment.

Minimum Requirements [Knowledge Skills & Experience]:

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Instrument (Control) Engineering or equivalent.
  •  8 - 9 Years' experience in Engineering, Oil I Petrochemical Industry with background of modern engineering design, procurement I construction fields using latest Codes and Standards and application software systems. Any higher level professional affiliation like IEE I IEEE is preferred.
  • Proficiency in English .
