BASIC FUNCTION

This position’s main responsibility is to assist the HSE - Q Team Leader in create and implement a comprehensive Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Assurance (HSEQ) manual that has to be approved by Company Terminal and Site Supply HSE prior to implementation. Acts as Deputy for the HSE-Q Team Leader in his absence.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strict implementation of all HSEQ policies and procedures. 

Assist in facilitating the processing of all documentary and statutory requirements with the local government authorities.

Assist in constantly updates policies on changing statutes specifically those governing the local environment (e.g. Company Industriai Area, Abu Dhabi government, etc.) and global trends in general.

Assist in preparing and compiles with periodic Safety inspection/ Audit Reports and submits them to the client.

Reports to Company Terminal Manger, Site Supply HSE and local authorities accidents that necessitate hospitai visit, loss of Iife and those resulting to substantial damage to property,

Reports all Lost Time Accidents (LTA), Near Miss and Restricted Work Cases (RWC) in the Knowledge Management System (KMS) Investigator module and follows up status thereof.

Ensures that timely and frequent inspection, testing and certification are conducted on all equipment as per requirements stipulated in the contract.

Monitors and observes re—ordering stocking levels of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment (e.g. fire extinguishers, safety harness, etc.)

Chairs and presides all joint Safety Investigation with Company and local authorities if necessary.

 

Minimum Qualifications

1. College graduate preferably industrial or Mechanical Engineering/ marine / shipping graduate

2. At least five (5) years HSE&Q experience in the same capacity with last three (3) years to be in container terminals.

3. Proven capability to implement safety policies to a big organization in a multicultural environment

4. Relevant courses and trainings from internationally accredited safety organizations

5. Excellent presentation skills

6. Extensive network with local authorities and the industry in general

7. Excellent communication skills in both oral and written, bilingual preferred
