Brief Description
Issues and ensures the proper execution of well completion and wirelineoperations programs. Ensures the optimum utilization of the contracted wirelineunits. Liaise with wireline contractors and assists in administering thewireline contracts. Supervises the redress of completion equipment at localwork-shops. Performs field supervision of operations described above.
Detailed Description
- Checks andconfirms the wells completion programs optimizing usage of completion items andwireline operations.
- Evaluatesnew completion and wireline techniques introduced into comapny’s operations andassists in the technical evaluation of completion equipment enquiries wheneverfeasible.
- Analysesand trouble-shoots completion and wireline operations problems. Recommendssolutions and alternatives.
- Updates thestandard completions designs, the standard completion manual, the wirelinemanual and related equipment requirements. Sets priorities for specialinvestigations and studies.
- Studiesgeneral drilling plans and develops required completion and wireline proceduresfor each well to be completed or worked over in liaison with the DrillingEngineers.
- Discusseswith Wireline Service Companies representatives work related problems,development and use of wireline tools, support equipment and techniques to copewith operational requirements.
- Makes regularvisits to wireline contractors facilities to make sure that the contractor’sequipment in good working condition. Makes visits to suppliers workshops tosupervise redress of completion equipment and local machining of equipment.
- Checks toestablish whether or not modifications to the completion/testing programmes areneeded and takes appropriate measure/action. Reports on present operations,notes changes and/or future requirements and advises upon necessary actions tomeet the changing conditions.
- Ensuresavailability of Wireline Service Contractors and equipment at the well site asrequired by the rigs.
- Reviews andfollows up Wireline Equipment under Drilling custody, its use, maintenance andrepair.
- Visits rigsto supervise running completions and wireline operations, recommends changesand/or developments in the methods and techniques used with a view to reducingcost and improving efficiency.
- Draftsenquiries for the local machining of equipment, issues minor work orders andtask orders for the redress of wireline and completion equipment.
- Knows theCompany Health, Safety and Environment Policy, Procedures, Regulations andObjectives as they relate to his/her area of responsibility. Ensures that workunder his/her control is performed in a safe and environmentally sound manner.Conducts effective accident investigation and follow up. Implements specificSafety Management System Program activities assigned to him/her.
- Performs other related or similar duties such aspreparing activity reports, training subordinates, participating in theDepartment staff development etc.

Work Environment
- Moderate, long desert driving abilities and exposed to prevailing weather.
- Air Conditioned surrounding: 30% of the working time.
- Onsite exposed to prevailing weather and rig condition of heat, dirt, noise: 70% of the working time and fumes, etc.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications,Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
- B.Sc in Petroleum,Mechanical, Chemical or relevant Engineering discipline
- At least 10 years’experience in Drilling and Workover Engineer. Including four years’ experiencein Drilling Planning and good knowledge of budgeting and financial matters
- Good knowledge ofcomputer application
- Very good knowledge inEnglish with strong communications and interpersonal skills.
