Vacancy Overview 
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Management Accountant who is keen to make a real difference to the commercial performance of the power station. 

Nature and Scope 
The Commercial Planner reports directly to the Finance Manager and will be part of a team responsible for providing an effective financial business planning, financial and output monitoring and reporting service to station management and staff as well as other teams.

Principal accountabilities:

- Complete & deliver weekly generation reports & PLANT (Output forecasting system) updates as per the requirements of Central Finance and Station Senior Leadership Team 
- Co-ordinating generation profile to maximise income, identifying output risks and recommend ways to minimise exposure 
- Advising the management team on strategies to maximise income 
- Ensuring close liaison with our Company Trading Department and station staff 
- Maintain the output forecasting tool - PLANT 
- Attend daily Operational Focus Meeting and/or Outage Control Centre morning briefs, and facilitate and attend the monthly Plant Loss Review meeting. 
- Preparation of the station’s 6 year Output Plan 
- Support the preparation of the station’s 5 year financial Business Planwith our expectations 
- Support the financial accounts preparation - monthly, quarterly, and annual 
- Support department managers, and budget holders, regarding the financial management and control of annual budgets, and support financial accountabilities 
- Maintain and develop appropriate financial controls and reporting, on a quarterly basis, via ERC 
- Benchmark Station finance processes/reporting against other AGR’s within the fleet 
- Undertake ad hoc output forecasting and financial analysis as required

Job requirements

- A good understanding of the business planning process 
- A positive attitude supporting continuous improvement 
- The confidence to propose ideas and challenge others views 
- Proven experience in delivering quality information to tight deadlines 
- Microsoft Excel, advanced level 
- Ability to interact at different levels of the organisation as will be required to cover Finance Manager and Management Accountant during absences 
- Candidates should be qualified to a minimum level of HNC, hold a relevant finance qualification or be qualified by experience. Also, you should ideally hold, or be working towards, a professional accounting qualification.
