Job Purpose:

Civil engineer in this team will be a part of a multi-cultural, self motivated professional in Das Island Asset Unit (DIAU) ADMA-OPCO.  Provides technical, project execution, operational and maintenance support in the field of Civil Engineering for all civil elements such as buildings, foundations, supports, pits, water retaining structures, retaining walls, roads, culverts, sea water intake structures, costal protections, jetties, groynes, recreation facilities and other concrete structures.  Provide technical and project support to ADNOC's Das Island Development project, DMP schemes and other major projects.

Principal Accountabilities:

Ensures the adherence of all personnel in the section to ADMA-OPCO’s Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Assurance (HSEQA).

Carries out his tasks in accordance with the prevailing operating and maintenance procedures. He shall comply with ADMA-OPCO and Best Industry Practices.

Ensures adherence to UAE/Local prevailing laws and regulations relating to civil work.  Participates, when required in multi discipline teams to carry out Risk Assessments into activities requiring additional Safety Precautions.

Performs the roles, responsibilities and supervisory functions as established by management for the team.  Provide first line engineering solutions to improve the performance and enhance the integrity of facilities at all plants, residential and business areas.

Conducts optimization, feasibility and preliminary costing studies for facility modification and enhancements. Provide complete project management for assigned projects (from concept to commissioning). 

Prepares Engineering Package for PMRs and WRs to be implemented by Das Maintenance Team. Supports development of project economic acceptability criteria.  Assist in the supervision of construction, commissioning and handover activities. 

Manages interface with Discipline Engineering/Major Projects/Brown Fields Divisions for major projects implementation. Works with DED in establishing corporate engineering standards and procedures. 

Participates in budget preparation and planning process and provide input to budget processes.   Initiate, manage and participate in QRAs, PHSERs, HAZOPs.

Participates in the development / upgrade of operations maintenance procedures.  Provide input to Planning Section to develop all levels of plans. 

Initiates & actively participates in Asset Master Planning & replacement studies/budgeting.  Co-ordinates and maintain updated Das Asset Risk Register (DARR).

Acts as focal point to DIAU for engineering and technical Services.  Assists in the training of UAE National Graduates both theoretically and practically on site. 

Performs other related duties such as raising BR/AFE/CRs and Service Orders, preparation of routine (daily) and special reports, ensures proper update and maintenance of technical records, assisting structural engineering personnel during leave schedule and emergencies.

Guides, directs and supervises subordinates to ensure they work to their best potential and contribute effectively as a Team.

 Minimum Requirements [Knowledge Skills & Experience]:

Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

5 – 6 years of minimum experience in Civil design & engineering out of which minimum 6 years in the area of onshore facilities for oil and gas industry and  minimum 3 years in supervisory role. It is preferable to have experience in an operating oil and gas company. 

Proficiency in using MS Windows, MS Office, STAAD.PRO, AutoCAD and relevant  software.  Excellent knowledge of BS 8110, 8007 & BS 5950 and other relevant codes & standards. Must have good communication and presentation skill and good computer literacy. 

Good knowledge of English both in written and spoken.
