Brief Description
- Provides technical support to rigs, Mud & Cement teams on continuous basis.
- To assess QA/QC and performance of drilling fluids chemicals and additives, cement, cement additives, acid, and acid additives
- Assess the performance of drilling fluids as per oil field standards API and or ISO
Detailed Description
- Reviews mud and cement well programs with concerned personnel in the drilling division.
- Ensures that verified procedures are applied in the evaluation and approval of each well mud, cement and acid programs and approves any change in control procedures.
- Plans and performs random QA/QC Pre-lifting quality control test for all mud items, cement additives and blends from the service companies’ warehouses.
- Reviews the acid program for the stimulation with concerned personnel and monitors its performance in the lab to ensure the planned performance is achieved.
- Visits group company and suppliers stores to collect chemical samples and provides required technical advice.
- Responds to emergency and non-routine drilling/work-over situations and provides required instructions to take appropriate measures to relieve the emergency situation.
- Keeps abreast with the industry and technology development in Mud, Cement, drilling fluids and acid operations and recommends the most effective technically and economically for implementation
- Carries out QA/QC tests on oil well cement &additives to confirm suitability for operations. Assess cement slurry composition as per API and or ISO standard.
- Carries out evaluation tests and corrosion tests on acid & acid additives to confirm their quality and suitability for operations. Assess acid recipes & determines recipe effect on tubular corrosion.
- Ensures availability of all laboratory chemicals,reagents and equipment and recommends
- Ensure confidentiality of lab records (at all times)during daily operation and tendering process
- Visits rigs to sample cement materials, Performs chemical analysis on water samples and tracks samples and records in/out.
- Maintains records on cement materials, specifications,testing techniques, performance in a transparent and clear manner.
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor Degree in Chemistry or related type of Science or Engineering
