Your Responsibilities
Offer Preparation: Formulating competitive bids, estimates or quotations, considering best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each individual situation.
Ensures tenders are well documented in a timely manner and with appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs. Defining cost for the proposed solution and communicating the same to sales organization.
Technology Selection: Defining the most suitable technology and product type(s) to be used based on application characteristics. Defining the configuration in accordance with bid commercial needs and requested quality metrics.
Bid Management: Managing the preparation of all technical(e.g. defining the most suitable technology and product type(s)),financial (e.g. total price sheet, cash flow analysis) and if necessary, project management (e.g. quantifies hours of engineering and commissioning) aspects of the bid or estimate or quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions. Collecting and collating all information needed to prepare the proposal, including both technical and cost elements. Participating in the kick off meeting organized by the project team.
Project Activities: Analyzing internal project management and project engineering activities to estimate cost. Quantifying hours of engineering and commissioning defined by the operations team.
Information Coordination: Managing the first technical inspection to retrieve all the information needed to prepare the proposal. Obtaining cost information from relevant internal contacts, including carrying site visits to survey the site. Ensuring that inputs for editing activities are provided on time and according to established quality procedures. Managing external services to support bid or estimation preparation such as translations, governmental approvals, opc management, etc.
Risk Management: Identifying potential risks in the bids, quotations and estimates, and in any related contract agreements across customers or channels. Providing information or participates in the risk review process in accordance with company policy.
Supplier Selection: Identifying potential vendors for equipment and materials required in the project and technically evaluates supplier offers to check match with specifications. Collaborating with supply chain management to coordinate requests to subcontractors. Working across ABB business lines, factories and divisions to provide bundling and packaging solution and participate in negotiation with internal and external supplier.
Documentation: Collecting and archiving documentation regarding the offer or order and records assumptions and decisions taken during the development process. Reporting the status of the bids, estimates or quotations using defined tools and collects and analyses the reasons for tenders being lost and won. Analyzing customer needs and competitor offers through general market information and information provided by the sales organization. Performing lost proposal analysis, identifies potential cause, and recommends future actions in cooperation with sales or local business line to obtain better future results.
Individual Contributor: Using prior theoretical learning or knowledge of methods and technologies to execute work assignments using established solutions. Building knowledge of related disciplines in the organization. May work under direct supervision or independently.
Your background
Relevant Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree.
Minimum 8 Years of experience out of which last 4 years should be full time bids and proposals or estimation of Electrical Solutions for Green field or Brown Field projects.
Required good experience in bid, proposal and tendering for electrical systems like transformers, switchgear etc..
Required strong skills in excel, ERP skills and SAP.
Excellent communication skills and problem solver.
