Job Details
We're looking for a sharp, detail-obsessed internal audit pro who knows the financial services world like the back of their hand. This role is core internal audit – no fluff. Think risk assessments, control testing, and regulatory compliance – all with a magnifying glass and a skeptical eye. You’ll play a key role in safeguarding the institution’s integrity, compliance, and bottom line.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit Execution:
- Plan, execute, and lead internal audits across various departments – with a sharp focus on credit, treasury, operations, finance, compliance, risk, and IT controls.
Risk & Control Evaluation:
- Identify gaps in internal controls, assess risks, and suggest process improvements – no sugar-coating.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to CBUAE, SCA, FATCA, AML, IFRS, and other relevant regulatory and statutory requirements.
Reporting:
- Draft audit findings and reports that are clear, concise, and actually useful. Present to management and follow up on remediation.
Continuous Monitoring:
- Participate in ongoing risk assessments, trend monitoring, and provide advisory input on internal controls for new initiatives and systems.
Special Projects & Investigations:
- Get involved in ad-hoc audits, fraud investigations, and deep dives when red flags pop up.
Audit Tool Utilization:
- Leverage data analytics and audit software (e.g., TeamMate, ACL, IDEA) to level up efficiency and accuracy.
Must-Haves:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred
- 5–7 years of solid audit experience, at least 3 years within a UAE-based bank or financial institution
- Familiarity with UAE regulatory frameworks (CBUAE, DFSA, SCA, ESR, etc.)
- Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills – must be able to slice through corporate BS
- High integrity and professional skepticism – if something smells fishy, you don’t ignore it
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience auditing digital banking or fintech operations
- Exposure to ITGC and cybersecurity audits
- Knowledge of Arabic (not a dealbreaker, but a definite plus)
