JOB PURPOSE :
Designated as Artificial Lift Specialist. Provides Artificial Lift advice to help Subsurface and Surface Teams achieve their objectives inthe areas of Technology Management, Technical Challenges, Standard Practices and Knowledge Sharing. Gives technical support, advisory and training to ADNOC Onshore staff.Acts as technical authority, for all Artificial Lift aspects related with petroleum engineering.
JobSpecific Accountabilities
- Represents technical authority for Artificial Liftmatters within ADNOC Onshore.
- Defines standards for Artificial Lift systems inthe assets.
- Supports assets in determining opportunities for ArtificialLift design and optimization.
- Identifies Artificial Lift challenges across allassets and implements new technologies and workflows.
- Captures Artificial Lift related lessons learned /best practices and ensures their communication across assets.
- Participates directly and indirectly in technical staff development (training, coaching, career development, etc.)
Generic Accountabilities
Supervision
- Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
- Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.
Budgets
- Provide input for preparation of the Section / Department budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
- Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Implement approved Section / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section’s / Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.
Performance Management
- Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Section /Department in line with the Company Performance framework.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
- Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function .
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
- Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
Reports
- Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management .
COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal
- Maintains close cooperation and coordination with all disciplines in TC.
- Coordinates with asset teams, functions and other Technical Centres on Artificial Lift matters.
- Captures lessons learned and best practices to develop standards, processes and other documentations.
- Initiates and participates in benchmarking of technologies and processes.
- Organizes and contributes knowledge sharing initiatives in the assets.
- Daily contact with TC peers & discipline manager.
- Frequent contact with assets’ peers and technical/management teams within other divisions in ADNOC Onshore.
- Occasional exchanges with ADNOC Onshore. senior management through committees,presentations, etc.
External
- Organizes and contributes to knowledge sharing initiatives in all ADNOC OPCO’s
- Maintains contacts with external institutions (Universities, Industry Organizations, and Shareholders etc.).
- Regular contact and meetings with ADNOC, International Shareholders, and OPCOs, through workshops, peer reviews, or more generally to share industry best practices and information.
- Regular contact with key external technology providers, as required by the business.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor Degree inpetro-technical discipline, advanced degree is preferable.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 15 years inartificial lift of which 5 years in a Gas lift and 5 years in ESP specialist role. International experience is preferable.
- Track record in maturing and applying new technologies and participation in R&D projects.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Provides expert advice and leads as a subject matter focal point on subsurface consultation, specifically on Artificial Lift related activities to support ADNOC Onshore ’s short &long term field development plans.
- Develops Artificial Lift optimization and monitoring strategies and contingency planning for field pilots .
- Recommends corrective actions that can have significant impact on Artificial Lift operations.
- Applies the most appropriate models to resolve Artificial Lift optimization and surveillance related matters.
- Leads continual improvement and implementation of Artificial Lift Technical Working Systems and Standard Operating Systems
